  1. i found this on the internet and thought it would be cool in the game!!! Is prickly pear safe to eat? Yes, you can eat the entire prickly pear cactus (Opuntia), including both the bright red/green fruits (tunas) and the flat pads (nopales). The fruit is sweet, tasting like a mix of raspberry and melon, while the pads taste like tangy green beans. Crucially, you must remove the tiny, hair-like spines (glochids) from both parts before consuming to avoid mouth and skin irritation. Opuntia species are the most cold-tolerant of the lowland cacti. good for some extra food into the early cold times while stuff is dying from low temps this can give some edibles for a bit longer. having another edible cactus would be nice to add to our gardens. they also have flowers too so can also at times feed the bees. i would suggest that we have some type of LEATHER or HIDE GLOVES to harvest these cuz they got spines and cannot be just stuffed into the mouth as is right from the plant. maybe let us put them in pots to as either cosmetic plants or just cuz it looks cool. they are not super tall i think so less that a sunflower in height. 1 and a half blocks high sounds about right for in game size i believe. that or have it spread like the pumpkin cuz it kinda takes over an area if left alone so a border probably is needed to keep it in check. still it would fit the game well i believe.
  2. i prefer the more realistic stuff in this game. that is why i got VS. the berry stuff however....... that kinda is gonna screw me a bit.
  3. if they ever do an alchemist or herbalist or apothecary class then they will NEED to add various herbs and things. a dedicated healer class would be nice.
  4. i CURRENTLY use stable version 1.21.6 so nutrients for berries don't matter yet.
  5. i wonder if we will get spice traders?
  6. oh wait it is an herb!!! when do they add that stuff?
  7. i don't know what that plant is.
  8. one day i will have a better pc to play with my friends and do a proper adventure.
  9. i wish we had sausages. we got fat and meat but nothing to put it in so i guess we got to wait for that one. we do have salt but no HERBS or SEASONINGS or SPICES. also those would be great to grow in the clay pot or windowboxes or just in the garden plots as usual.
  10. hope a dev answers. but will take a player if they know wth i need to know. i ain't picky.
  11. hope i get an answer today
  12. i made the fruit tree greenhouse like the wiki said but i want to know some things. 1. can i plant ANY crops near the fruit trees? 2. as long as they are 1-2 blocks away from the base of the trunk will they be fine? 3. or will that be too close and interrupt the leaves growing cycles on the trees as they grow from a started trunk height of 1 log piece? 4. if yes to question and 1 and 2 do the crops gotta be short crops like carrots? or mid sized crops like grains? or tall sized crops like sunflowers? 5.also does the number given for the greenhouse or anything refer to the interior only or does it include the "shell" of the building. as in a measurement of a greenhouse it said a greenhouse of 14X14X14 size fits 5 fruit trees. 1 in each corner and 1 in the center. does that 14X14X14 count the roof/floor/walls or just the air space inside the building? i am just trying to plant as much crap as possible to feed all my animals and me so i don't wanna waste the extra space in the enclosed greenhouse if i can use it for stuff. i play SOLO so i have nobody to ask this stuff too.
  13. it do seem like that but if you don't mind meat you don't REALLY starve unless you suck at the game. now if you wanna roleplay as a vegan peasant then yeah you can just wait for your death LOL.
  14. oh crap i totally forgot about the loom. good idea!!!
  15. i would love more string alternatives. i personally put up a request for a spinning wheel to be added for wool and other things like that so the silkworm silk would go well with this too!!!
  16. was not thinking about the old fashioned aspect but yeah it does fit the theme of VS very well. also i THINK the silkworms are TECHNICALLY edible too so they also could be a food source. roasted with salt grubs do kinda have a buttery, popcorn-ish flavor. i know from doing this myself. mom was horrified when she found out LOL.
  17. apparently people make jam from mulberries.

    NEW TREES

apparently the honey locust tree has edible seedpods. please add these trees to the game. the pods look kinda like long peapods but with like 10 or more beans in them. the trees are a bit thorny you do have to approach with caution. also comes in a thornless variety too. i got the BELOW INFO from a tree farm site. i like that it has flowers on it too. also maybe add mulberry trees too cuz they are also edible. i had one at my old house. Honey Locust Great nitrogen fixer. Grass and crops reported to be greener at base of the honey locust. The seed pods and beans are reported to be sweet with a high sugar content. Experimenting done in the 1940’s with animal feed report over 250 pounds of pods per tree. Wth 35 trees per acre that equates to 8700 pounds per acre of forage. Compared to approx 2000 pounds of corn per acre, that’s 4 times more animal fodder. The Thornless Honey Locust is a fast-growing tree that thrives in Zones 3 to 9, reaching heights of 30 to 70 feet. Known for its attractive, fern-like foliage and long, flat seed pods, this drought-tolerant tree provides excellent shade and wildlife habitat. It blooms with fragrant greenish-yellow flowers in late spring and prefers well-drained soil in full sun. Suitable for urban landscapes, large gardens, pasture and forests.
  19. i tried to use it but my pc can't handle the unstable builds properly so WE BOTH will need to wait until the update if you wanna hear my actual in person info on how i thought the mod handled. sorry. my pc is just too poo to handle the unstable builds.
  20. that is kinda what i had wanted when i suggested this in the first place. you would throw it using the same set of motions as the Malefator SLING weapon. that or you get a different motion set like its a LASSO then let it fly out to the targeted block/branch/whatever you aim at. hell we could use a LASSO too for wrangling critters.
  21. also i just rechecked the wiki. yeah it says 4 portions for the chickens. i didn't see this page so i went from the animals pages for my stuff. so yeah close enough for me. thanks dude.
  22. we NEED animal traders. hopefully in a future update we get them. i spent 3 FREAKING MONTHS trying to get a female hare. got it yesterday AFTER it ate 5 carrots from the dang basket traps and NOT get caught!!!!
  23. please help!!! i am playing solo cuz my pc is crap so i got NOBODY to ask in game for help!!!
  24. how much does a chicken need to eat before it can mate? the wiki don't say. please update it. also where the heck do i find sheep and muskox? i can't find them anywhere!!!!!!!! i got chickens/hares/goats/pigs but no sheep/muskox
