  1. There is a temporary mod available to fix this.
  2. Yes, if you constantly spook them, they will not incubate and the timer on nest boxes will not progress. Leave them alone for a day, but stay close enough the keep the loaded. If I walk too far away from my base the eggs will not be incubated too.
  3. The stepHeight has been consistend for Bighorn sheep in RC6: Tweak: Bighorn sheep step height changed to 3, to match goats. Moose step height now 2 It kind of makes sense wit hthe current terrain generation which creates a lot of high cliffs. I found quite a lot of crushed animals near some montains at my base. And I found a bear which spawned on a rock spire and did not walk down on his own. I don't like that and I will have a look into adjusting that settings regarding stepHeight. Thank you very much for the hint!
  4. Would love to see more pictures. I admire it because I will never achieve that level of detail.
  5. Yes. Somehow they escaped my temporary enclosure: first a regular 1.5 regular fence or 2 high dirt block side wall of the valley I chased them through. Then afterwards they escaped a 2.5 high fence or 3 high dirt block wall twice. Have them in 3.5 fences / 4 block wall now. Nit even sure of their exact species yet, because I don't want to chase them in their small enclosure now..
  6. I have been playing the 1.19 RC for about 14 hours now. After updating to RC 5 the animal spawn around my base has improved: found some pigs I round up in a temporary enclosure, learned that new species of goats can somehow escape 2 high fences and got some success with the new animal trap: First I caught some young poult which grew up to egglaying hens. Unfortunately no male so far and the area where the traps were set up seems to be empty now. By luck I found a piglet in a small cave with a dead end, dug a skylight and set up the cage trap with onions and caught it as well to carry it home. And finally I caught a grown up male hare. We can't domesticate them, can we? But do they breed on their own in a protected enclosure? What have you caught so far?
  7. Are we sure, every surface ore does spawn surface bits? At least meteorite iron and suevite do not, one in ten creates has respective bits on the surface. All others are only found by the crater shape.
  8. I do not see any rifts. So presumably turning them off worked as axpected I guess. However I still get surface drifter spawns at night when rain exstinguished some outdoor torches which are supposed to lit my inner perimeter.. At the screen where we select the save game, my 1.18 game shows Temporal Storms: Off Temporal Rifts: Off Same with my 1.19 game but there are some more things tweaked, e.g. Temporal Stability: Off (might turn that back on .. I liked that feature. It added some pressure when mining underground) I am pretty sure the spawning behaviour has been changed and maybe unintentionally because it's not mentioned in the change log?
  9. Update: I built a perimeter fence around my home and placed some torches and now the night seems to be quiet. That's interesting, because this mechanic is not reflected in the wiki.
  10. Hi, short question which I could not figure out with Google: Why are drifters spawning at night in my game? I played ~100 hours in 1.18 and started a new game in 1.19 recently. I tried to use the same settings but apparently missed something: Why are a lot of drifters spawning near my home at night? My temporal rifts are turned off, verified by `/worldconfig temporal Rifts`. There are no open caves near my home. Either something changed from 1.18 to 1.19 or I missed some worldconfig settings when starting my new game. Any hint would be greatly appreciated.
  11. Hay as mulch to retain moisture would be a great improvement to farming in hot climates.
  12. Found this thread by google seaching the respawn rates of a bear. I got one, not too far from my base but have been safe the first year. However, bear territory spawns chickens and I need those. I managed to build a big pen and corner a hen. Luckily I fenced her off in a small 2x2 pen with 2 high fences because the bear came after us.. It could not kill my hen over or through the fence and I managed to kill the bear in an intense fight. Man, that felt great to lot that pelt and fat! Unfortunately the bear respawn less than two minutes later and got me in the back. That was not so much fun. Is this respawn rate normal? Should I cage the bear instead to avoid a quick respawn?
