  1. I think parkour or some sort of climbing should be in the base game, if only to make "simple" 2 block climb or 1 block holes not some impassable terrain without changing things (mining or placing blocks). I've climbed rocks or large boulders 3 metres tall or fit in gaps that are 1 metre, and I'm just a below average strength if thin 20's aged guy. If mister/missus seraph can somehow have the knowledge of everything needed to build a house (still no lore explanation for that or the guidebook) and cut down and move a whole tree then letting us climb a 2 block wall even if only by wedging ourselves between 2 walls like so: ■■■■ ■X ■ With X being the player. should be a possible thing to do. Having a parkour or just a simple climbing system would also add another thing for players to chose, with plate armour not letting player half fall damage by wall sliding down or fit in a 1 block passage in a cave while scale could get damaged when moving through 1 block gap.
  2. While I haven't gotten to the village in survival yet, I've looked over it in creative, it's great and impressive with lots of details and things that make sense for a village to have (even if a few unfinished things like being able to get a haircut or renting a room in the inn aren't yet a thing). There's just one thing that bothers me, there's no toilets or anything hygiene related beyond the one well (There's a great secret in the well, not spoiling it). I can get that there's gameplay and possibly lore reasons why players/seraphs don't need a toilet or tub of water to wash with, but the Villagers are in the context of the setting supposed to be completely human meaning piss, poo, sweat and everything else that can happen IRL should be an issue and have something for it in the village. Also there's no graveyard but that could be explained with bodies being burned as it's written in the story excerpt Ghosts where a mound made from a pile of stones is confusing to a villager, meaning that they probably burn bodies. But to be fair the village is still impressive, I would also like if possible for there to be some side content involving improving the village or doing some semi random quests for some villagers for new trade options or things to buy. Ideally we could help rebuild the village back to its peak (making room for traders or someone Tobias needs) and maybe get some cool reward (those broken houses and the secret tunnel to the keep are a Chekhov's gun if I've even seen one). Update: There's a small graveyard that I missed behind the fenced off chicken area, next to the wall.
  3. Otters, weasels or minks. Otters because they're cute and having an extra water mob/creature might make the devs consider rivers or a better ocean/land set up a higher priority in development. Weasels or minks because they could be a possible pet/dog alternative that would stand out compared to the other block game.
  4. A mod called Farseer was made about 10 days ago and it's effectively a simpler Distant Horizons mod but for Vintage Story. It's got just over 5 thousand downloads so I figured I'd make this post so people can find out about it. Mod link: https://mods.vintagestory.at/show/mod/22371 There's also this video which goes over it, it's only 8 minutes long.
  5. Herobrine is that you? I wouldn't mind there being some more obvious way to tell if you're in temporal unstable surface area as I've several times spotted cool places to build, only to get to them and have the temporal gear slowly turn counter clockwise. could have unique plants or flowers that only grow on temporal unstable land, something small that wouldn't change the alive/realistic view of the world too much. (Not like the pale "garden" forest biome in the other game)
  6. I've just found out that my pc's windows security (Windows 10) blocked access for the process: 'Vintagestory.exe'. It stopped it from using the protected folder: 'D:\*MyNameSoIchangedThis*\Pictures\Vintagestory\' I haven't tested it yet but it maybe what caused the screenshot issue for me, and you may also have the same thing going on your pc's.
  7. Could have some special effect or glowing/growing happen to temporal rifts just before the big storm happens. Could have rifts have a particle effect which looks like the rust world is leaking out (could look like water pouring down on the surface or go the opposite direction with it pouring up into the atmosphere). Alternately you could have Dave (the thunder god/giant giraffe in the rust world) let out some sort of warning alarm or become semi-visible ahead of the storm (Though this depends on where the future chapters plan to go with Dave (I personally hope based on how the big bird is treated that Dave will be passive or even friendly or at least as friendly as a skyscraper sized construct can be)
  8. I've got the same issue, I have this on my client main log: [Error] Screenshot failed: [Error] Exception: Could not find file 'D:\*MyNameSoIchangedThis*\Pictures\Vintagestory\temp.txt'. Hope someone knows what's the issue because I've got not clue.
  9. Yeah, I've had this happen. Started a new world with 5 days of safety. Day 5 night approaches, I'm talking to a trader to check their trades before sleeping the night away when I notice that's it's bright outside through a window. I check the time, it's midnight so I figure it might just be bright because of it being near summer and therefor brighter for more hours, so I head out through the night heading to my home, I even walk past a rust portal with nothing coming out of it. But yeah it being a bug/glitch/error makes more sense than what I thought as my previous world of 100 hours didn't have any nights as bright during the summer.
