  1. The devs do desire to get rid of the crafting grid (see roadmap in the devlog menu at top of page).  My only concern is that too much realism is definitively UNfun in games and at such points realism needs to give way to game mechanics to promote enjoyment of the game rather than descend into a real life simulator.

  2. The best horror has a set up.  Such as there's a quick introduction to unnatural critters (drifters), but there's other horrors out there, increasingly horrifying drifters, locusts of various types and temporal storms that don't come along the first night.  Watch some classic gothic horror (Alien or A Nightmare on Elmstreet) to see how horror is a buildup until you finally  meet the big bad boogie man - usually not until at least 1/3 or even 1/2 of the story is over.

  3. Wine doesn't last that long, but if you wait until the last day to squeeze the berries, then wait until the last day of the juice before sealing to make wine the wine won't spoil until about 50 days after picking the berries.  Jam sealed in a crock can last for about 2 years [edit over 4 in a cellar] by comparison.  The problem with jam is it provides a low amount of satiation, but OTOH, is that what jam would be used for anyways?

  4. Last night was mining olivine during a temporal storm.  Towards the end killed a nightmare drifter to restore almost all of my temporal stability.  While topping off the last stack of olivine in my inventory had a sawblade spawn practically on top of me.  The first sign I knew it was there was it's first attack.  The first sound of the buzzsaw wasn't heard until I was reading "Congratulations!  You died."  All I could think was "damn!  That was quick."

  5. I think the moral to the story is, bears are easy to kill when they swim.

Without a stitch of armor I have disemboweled multiple swimming bears with my trusty falx.

  6. No programming bugs.  What you got there is a rare aquatic cabbage.  Looks like a fresh water aquatic cabbage at that.

To prevent propagation of aquatic vegetables and grains it is highly recommended you take care with the water in your bucket.  Apparently, seraphs are something of a sorcerer's apprentice.
