Mynd you, møøse bites Kan be pretty nasti

I killed three moose with nary a nip.  I was pretty surprised when it climbed up the 3 block haybale pillar I was on.  But he just dropped off without comment and ran about the countryside being difficult accepting my invitation to be dinner.

  2. Occasional freeze is probably view distance, but could be other things.  Check your settings to see if you have other settings that use up CPU resources.

As form animals?  I just started a world that I have encountered moose, pigs, sheep, carribou, deer, wolves and a bear.  All within about 500 blocks of where I settled which itself is about 750 blocks from spawn (on the edge of a lake so don't see much at spawn when I revisit upon death).

  3. Based on personal experience I can concur that bears don't seem to be so dangerous.

Last play session I was out and about on a wonderful mid-May night with torch in one hand and flint spear in the other.  Came running around a two block tall bush and saw what seemed like a statue.  A moment later the realization hit that I was not looking at a statue but a bear standing on his hind legs from point blank range (three blocks).  I veered sharply to the right and ran fast enough that I didn't even hear the bear, nor have I seen it since.  Playing as a blackguard I've survived a first hit encounter with bears but that was with battle jammies and higher health from better nutrition, neither of which applied in this encounter.

Heck, if the best I find is "Decent" I'll dig an exploratory hole or two. Like you say, you need so little to bronze, and it costs very little in terms of pick durability and ladders.

Ultra-high readings for the bronze metals will likely result in being set for the rest of the game.  Drop a shaft and you're likely to run into a vein even if it was just 10 blocks from the previous shaft.

Btw i decided to give it a try and i mined down in the "high" reading area (but i was told that it is a stupid idea and one should only mine in the "ultra high" area)

That really only applies to iron since all the other ores have much higher spawn chances.  Having said that, I have found iron on a decent reading.

  6. Definitely possible to battle 2 headed drifter naked and flint spears.  In my first temporal storm of my last world I was nearly successful, and did so within a confined space amidst a surface ruin (1.17).  If I hadn't have derped and darted to grab a spear that was too close to the drifter I'd have been successful.  I wasn't going for a story to flex on other, but really wanted that first shiny gear to reset my spawn so I didn't have to run a few hundred blocks from spawn.

  7. As an example, an unsealed crock outside a cellar will spoil in a matter of days.  Seal the crock and it is now good for a number of weeks.  Put the sealed crock in a cellar and it will now last close to or over a year.
