I totally understand the desire to stick with vanilla, that's why I only play with client mods, or mods I understand/have control over.
If there are breaking updates I don't want to loose my world. So if I can fix them I can keep my world around forever
To be clear, the video was a one time occurrence, which I'm not really concerned about.
My biggest question is when the blocks just disappear, most of the dirt instead of falling, wiggle then disappear. This didn't used to happen in the same world pre 1.20.4.
I started this world in 1.19 then upgraded to 1.20
It sounds like it happens to more people than me, so I guess it's a bug.
:)
I absolutely love this idea! To tie it into the existing game mechanics you could draw on it the same color as the pigment in your hand.
Time to research how to mod the map.....
I made a mod specifically for this reason, adding cloth blocks:

And expanded the selection to include leather blocks:

Hope this helps.
I was just wondering if it is easy to buy multiple copies/accounts. One of which my son will be using to play with me and my wife. Both me and my wife bought the game separately, but I was wondering mostly because he is young and doesn't have an email or anything. So it would really just be my second copy.
I had a similar issue when I started a world with a terrain generator mod, saved quit, turned off the mod and loaded up the game.
It wouldn't generate new chunks, luckily I was just testing so it didn't break a world I cared about.
Could be a similar issue just a thought.
Some people find this annoying, like my wife, it is one of the best features in my opinion. Every time I hear the collapsing I freak out for a sec then smile. This feature makes this game stand out from others like it.
Not sure about temporal storms yet, but when rift activity is calm I get quite a few bowtorn and shivers at night, but never drifters.
Is this intended?
I personally love this mechanic, it makes the game more interesting and difficult. I don't mind the mountains loosing dirt on the steeper sections, it seems more realistic to me anyways.
The lag spikes don't really bother me, they are usually only in the beginning anyways. Unless you constantly travel near mountains.
As for mountain bases, I haven't really built a mountain base yet in VS
It would be nice if they would add a option to disable this option for all but players. That way you still have it, but not without your personal actions causing it.
I dug a hole once to trap a pig for later, when I came back after several months I had 3 pigs, 2 rabbits, 4 deer, 1 chicken.
The gods are very generous
I would love it if they added fishing and would hope it would be something more interactive like fishing in Among Trees which is the most immersive fishing I have seen in any game.
