  1. Has any vintarian been lucky enough to get their hands on a steam machine? If so, how is the performance? just curious.
  2. That's the thing right? Those people act as if banning him from the community is a reward. It certainly isn't. Was he tired of the community and modding for it? Sure, so he says. Yet he still also interacted, stayed, and developed his mods when he could have just walked away. Regardless of what he said, maltiez still got something out of modding and interacting with people. Never having to deal with him again is enough for me. I dont need to see him fired by the mob because I dont like him, which I dont.
  3. debatable. vigilantism is not a universally positive moniker and that is what tyron called maltiez
  4. One time I found a copper pro pic and a tin bronze Pic in the first tool vessel I found in the world. Def sped up my progression lol
  5. once again. assumptions are not facts. Having a differing opinion on what a statement means by itself is entirely different than assuming Its a lie and then assuming 500 other things because of said assumption. you are pulling this forum past opinion and trying to claim your conspiracies (not trying to be aggressive, but that is what they are) as 100% fact, and its entirely dishonest.
  6. my point in saying this is, don't accuse others of what you yourself do. To accuse others of nitpicking devolves the thread exactly how williams explained. To claim you cannot read something without bias, then to say the insinuation that you have not is obnoxious, is contradictory. The problem is you and some others use your own assumptions to justify even more extreme assumptions. You assume Tyron's statement is a defense of maltiez, therefore that proves everything you have claimed so far. All the way up into you are now questioning the timeline completely. That is simply just illogical thinking. And yes i know we disagree, i literally pointed that out.
  7. i don't think this is even quantifiable given when these problems started, and when it was discovered. Not knocking cave n caverns devs work in discovering this, i think you are over inflating the time spent.
  8. i've seen you do the same thing to those that are defending specifically anego in ANY capacity in this situation... every time someone counters your reasoning, you either do the same thing, or just drop the argument. Which by the way people read things, shows you cant defend your position past your initial reasonings. Disregarding the few that specifically defend maltiez, most just have a differing opinion than you on how things actually are. You see tyron's response as a defense of maltiez' actions. I see it as a statement to explain to the community exactly what happened, why it happened, and that things are as of now, safe. This is typical formatting for an initial statement on a situation like this. if you take the time and read the statement without bias, it reads fairly neutral. which is normal.
  9. seklesta is one developer and the scope of the situation is still relatively unknown internally. how many devs is "they" to what extent did they "know"? Im more inclined to believe tyron, who has since been very trustworthy and faithful to the community, that they didnt realize to what extent maltiez was speaking of. Also when i say this fiasco isnt more than a week old, i mean its discovery and everything that has happened since.
  10. and ive already laid out what may complicate terminating his position. Tyron already did admit culpability in not looking further into what maltiez really meant when he had brought up his "anti-cheat efforts". The thing is, we have the benefit of hind sight. maltiez offhand mentioning his own efforts and then another statement asking to put anti cheat in the game at a different point in time could look entirely disjointed if mentioned even a few hours a part. Who said the community is at fault? I'm speaking specifically on a person (quiksilvr) trying to say anego is criminally liable for a third party mod containing malware. What does it mean to "stand by his employment"? They arent standing with him in solidarity saying he did nothing wrong. supposedly some discord moderator did (so what?) I already said, that i don't read tyron's statement as flattering to maltiez. Again, explaining the reasoning why someone did something is not automatically justification. Tyron mentioning problems with their inner tos points to this being more nuanced than you make it out to be. And speaking on the supposed "reward" of banning maltiez, look at it this way. Yes, he has said many times he does not like this community, and has expressed leaving. Despite that, he has continued to be a hostile member of the community to anyone with so much as a question Doesnt mute or leave the discord, doesnt quit interacting, etc. For some reason or another he feels the need to stay. banning him from everything, is for both our and anego's benefit. He has clearly displayed clear apathy towards us right up until him being silenced. Anego can't have him running his mouth at the community, essentially harassing us while on his high horse, and also try and repair standing with the community. All of you demanding immediate answers act as if this is the last we will ever officially hear of this. To which i highly doubt. This whole fiasco isnt even a week old.
  11. That's the thing. Disregarding the poor wording of tyron's post, and what not. These actions were done prior to his employment, and were only discovered after the fact. You can't blame anego for a third party modder adding malware to their mod, before they were even hired by the company.
  12. I mean, I laid out why his termination MAY currently be unattainable. Dude, I am a maltiez hater, at least in terms of his character. Have been since I first interacted with him on the moddb. I do not like the guy. I still think there's more nuance to this past just kicking him out the front doors. Its not always that simple. For those reading this later on. There is also the fact these actions were taken before his employment. i dont know the laws where anego or maltiez is based in, but this simply may not be something legally actionable because it happened before his employment ever started.
  13. I feel like anyone demanding more simply wants blood. Nothing can feasibly done to fix this, past an apology. Depending on how maltiez is hired, his employment/ stay at the company could be conditional, or if he is contracted, there could be legal ramifications for terminating it. Honestly with how much the studio cares about us. Which they do. This situation doesnt challenge that, I wouldnt doubt if other devs share our animosity towards maltiez. Is actions and unapologetic reactions have greatly harmed community standing and im sure no one appreciates that. I've personally disliked him for the better part of the last two years.
  14. Yes. That is what is called an explanation. In no way does this glorify maltiez actions. Tyron literally calls these actions foolish.
  15. i simply disagree. You can argue he wasnt harsh enough in his critcisms, but he was still critical. He was explaining why maltiez did do what he did, and also said it was a foolish thing for maltiez to do. explaining why someone did something isnt automatic justification. Like others have said, what could they even do to prove people claiming they were affected were affected? mentioning the crashing would have to come with an apology or the ones that want it mentioned would be upset, and could also be an admission of guilt which could lead to problems.
