Hmm. I probably have a copy. Not on this computer though, and I'm physically unable to go look for my backups right now. When I can do it, I'll post here to let you know. I keep copies of everything and started playing VS just before that version, so I should have a copy.
edit: Omg, this is excruciating. The disks my husband found on my shelf are for 6 months before I started playing VS. Argh! Hopefully when I can look for myself I'll be able to find them. It might be a few days before I can look.

and we've used all these mods before
It might help to list the mods you are using. The people that have the knowledge to help you would probably need to know that information (I'm guessing).

Sooo... something like a horse and plow?
Why does that make me think of John Deere's Harvest in the Heartland for DS? It was so satisfying to drive that little tractor around the Harvest Moon-esque farm! But, um, yeah. Horse and plow could be fun! I'd support that. Or a sheep and plow. Or something.

Is there a way to enable chiselling after starting a game?
from https://wiki.vintagestory.at/index.php/Chisel
QuoteTo activate [microblock chiseling] after the world was created, use the following command: /worldconfig microblockChiseling [off|stonewood|all]
This determines whether to allow microblock chiseling or not. The 'stonewood' parameter means all stone and wood materials are allowed. The 'all' parameter means most cubic blocks are allowed (default: stonewood).- 1

earliest available is 1.9.14
You could always ask Tyron for a download link to 1.5. He is very kind. The worst that can happen is that he'll say "no." (but I bet he won't mind at all)

I guess it would be like taking the 'fluffier leaves' approach to trees, but applying it to caves. You've got a good point there!
-
Your second photo reminds me of glow worm caves. Have you come across any of those yet? eta: or crystals?
One way to think of it: even in real life, amazing cave features are rare.

Some of what you mention is already on the roadmap: https://www.vintagestory.at/roadmap.html/
I'll just mention a couple of things:
- salt and salted meat is already in the game
- with chiseling, you can make all of the decorative furniture you could desire. Take a look at Ashantin's "Best Builds" series where she tours other player's builds, so much talent! https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0X6CvP-adaD5PGzQ4txSJNWOpf90BS0Y
Hypi does some gorgeous chiseling: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_q6aL2vcF-u8jO6AHso2vI177De9tyTw

I think this is about to change in a big way with the next update. Personally, I'm holding off on playing because I want to start fresh when the next update drops (and it's a busy time for me anyway), but I'm really excited! I live for the loot.
-
Darn it. And I'm guessing there was no other setting listed that looked likely?
This really needs some documentation that is easy to find.
-
Go to Settings > Controls and there should be something that toggles between views. It might be F5?
eta: I think the default is to not show arms

Considering how many people are playing VS this cannot be the first time this has happened to someone. I'm willing to bet that @Tyron has some solution or recommendation so that you can play without being attacked.
-
Oh no!
I don't know how much Tyron reads this area of the forum.
If you post your problem over in Vintarian Support, you may have a better chance of getting the help that you need.
Best wishes! I hope they get you up and running safely very soon.

I can live with either of those things. Still using hoe for root crops is better than scythe which doesn't even make any sense.
Yes, I like your idea about limiting the scythe. Personally, I've only used the scythe for grains and grass. I didn't know it cut other crops until your post.
-
If we are to have a tool for gathering root crops, please let it not be the hoe. As an avid gardener, that would just... just. It would spoil in-game gardening for me since hoes are so NOT the type of tool needed for that task.
Perhaps an alternative idea to making the hoe more useful:
Require hoeing at the start of the growing season, or between planting crops. Or the hoe can be used for destroying/cutting grass on farmland. That would be much more in keeping with the real use of a hoe.

I myself have found creating leather a mid-game, late bronze age thing, because limestone seems to always be vey far off, and sparse.
You could also use sea shells, chalk, or borax. Some (all?) of these ingredients can also be purchased from traders.
I hadn't thought about the possible process for taming a bear. ugh! There is no way I'd go through multiple generations of breeding. Personally, I'd rather use a magical device that tames them instantly.
I would like to see a handsome stag as a mount. That would be glorious!! Is the new animal a gazelle? Or antelope? Whatever, anyway their animation is so nicely done that it gives me hope that a nice stag is possible.

I'd like to see High Gen Rams be used for mounts because for me at least they have only a use now as a supply of meat and hides (and between everything else i don't need that a lot)
There was talk of Polar Bears being used for mounts. This came up during a MP youtube video. I can't remember if Saraty was there, or if someone was quoting her (and of course I've no idea if or when it would be implemented).

I didn't notice anything, but then again I've only played SP and don't really pay attention to things involving servers.

This was just asked by someone else in another thread and @Zandramasprovided the solution:
6 hours ago, Zandramas said:There are several bug reports for this and it seems to be fixed with the next version:
https://github.com/anegostudios/VintageStory-Issues/issues/2277
If you go to the linked page, Tyron provides a temporary fix (download and instructions in his post here).
-
If you scroll down on the page Zandramas posted, you will find that Tyron posted a temporary fix (so you won't have to wait for the next version). There is a download, and some instructions, in Tyron's post.

You may get better help by posting your question in the Support Forum. Best wishes! I hope you will be able to play very soon.

Animal riding and boats are already on the roadmap. meh.. linkage isn't working, here is url: https://www.vintagestory.at/roadmap.html/

Suggestion Flax farming alternative? Moths!
in Suggestions

Spider webs irl do not have the properties necessary for use as a fiber. They would be great for medicinal use though! I've suggested their use in bandage recipes but it hasn't been implemented.
Personally, I'd be more interested in plant fibers. If silkworms are a consideration, they would not be difficult to implement in the game and their fiber has superior insulation qualities so it would even make sense. This video of real-life silk farming on a personal home farm setting is a good example:
