  1. According to an update log from last August: "Crop damage from low temperature, Reduced meat from animal harvest during winter and disabled sheep and boar spawning during winter." Not sure if the newer additions of berry bushes not growing at cold temperatures is included in that now, though.
  2. I'm playing through a seriously long winter (so far about 100 in-game days on a part of the map surrounded by water and high mountains, so very difficult to travel through), and chiseling and panning have been my main activities - as well as making a nice armor set to explore all of the deeper caves nearby. The days are very short right now, so I tend to do an hour or two of exploring in the morning and afternoon (mostly going out on the ice to harvest meat from all the foxes and rabbits that the wolves are killing), some panning, chiseling in the evening, and then lots of sleep.
  3. I thought I saw a rotten log in creative mode in the last update, and given that a whole bunch of new mushrooms that grow on logs are coming to the game soonish (per the devlog), I wonder if mushroom farming via logs is also coming next? It makes sense for some type of mushroom cultivation to be possible.
  4. Yep, they all spawn in the world. I've only ever found pineapples in the middle of jungles (easy to overlook), and peanuts right on the edges of jungles.
  5. 33 minutes real time, according to people on the discord server.
  6. I think it would be an interesting and useful addition to the stone age to have pits for food processing - specifically of cassava, which currently requires barrels, and acorns. This could be as simple as creating a charcoal pit structure that cassava/acorns could be stacked in, adding water (carried in a cooking pot or bowl), and sealing for several days. Or something more simplistic, like just blocking off a water block and placing items in there. This would allow limited cassava consumption pre-copper age, and enable processing of acorns into flour or as a grain-like ingredient for acorn mash (both very popular foods of indigenous people where I live).
  7. I like the idea of this, and would suggest that being able to create a saddle quern could be chance based - whenever you interact with a boulder or piece of stone there could be a chance (much smaller for the rock than the stone) that you pick up a quern instead. And yes, any vessel should be able to pick up water for cooking (or cassava soaking).
  8. Has anyone playing VS on Mac noticed any Mac-specific problems with 1.15? I've been playing 1.14 for the last few months and haven't run into any serious issues, but I'm a little worried about what might happen if I update.
  9. I've found that putting fence blocks above the gate with a one block gap in-between lets me have a double (or higher) fence and functioning gate without anything getting in or out. Like so (x is fence, g is gate): xxxxx xx xx xxgxx
  10. So I'm stuck at home this week recovering from surgery, and I decided I'd like to try and make a model of a neolithic house (specifically this Cucuteni-Trypillia house) in Vintage Story. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for how to recreate some of the materials here in VS - I was thinking mudbrick for the clay-ish floors seen in the picture, rough-hewn fencing for walls, haybales for roofs, but I'd love to see if anyone had better ideas. Also, to recreate the loft area - would it be possible to put roughhewn fencing horizontally for a loft floor? Or would I need to use plank slabs instead? Thanks in advance for any ideas!
  11. I had a question about transferring a save made using one account to a separate account on the same computer. My brother's been playing a save created on my account but is planning on getting his own. Will there be any problems opening the save file using the new account?
  12. Hm, I play on Mac and haven't seen any processes called 'sh' in Activity Monitor when I open up Vintage Story.
