  1. I believe both Bumber and Steel General gave the solution together. For waxed cheese it will eventually ripen but it will take much longer. Settings/World snapshot Raw cheese (Waxed) 30 days / month Season (mid winter) Summary of observations: I needed 15 days to ripen after I salted, picked the raw cheese up, waxed it and placed it on the shelf to ripen 1. After the 15 days it displayed -8.0 days left to ripen (0%) 2. 7 days after that it displayed -15.0 days left to ripen (100%) 3. A little while after that it'll become 'Waxed cheddar cheese fresh for x years,' depending on your world/cellar temperature. Definitely a (minor) bug that needs to be addressed later on.
  2. Seems like it's an ongoing bug that only affects waxed cheese. Interesting.
  3. So the issue isn't the days per month setting as it happens on the default value (9) and when you set days to 30.
  4. Hi, I did some more testing and I think there might be several issues: 1. Looking at the link cheese-making video from PapaCheddar on the VS wiki there appears to be a change (or introduced bug) in 1.18.15 (stable). In the video (from 2 years ago), as soon as he put the raw-cheese (waxed) on the shelf it displays 'Will ripen in 0 hours' then immediately shows '19.6 days left to ripen (0%).' The countdown is displayed in the 2nd text. In 1.18.15, the display starts with 'Will ripen in x hours' and STAYS there until the countdown reaches 0 THEN it displays 'x.x days left to ripen (0%)' with a continued countdown. Perhaps the countdown is supposed to show in the second text like in the video. 2. After 'Will ripen in 0 hours' ends it starts with '-8 days left to ripen (0%)' and the % increases from there. It should not display negative numbers. I forgot to mention I use 30 days so the cheese's '14 - 20' days to ripen might have been based on 9 day month (default). So days to ripe should be more if it follows the same logic as farm growth times changing if you change your days / month. I don't know if 14-20 days is a constant value no matter your month setting. Did you change your days per month setting as I did? Mine is set to 30.
  5. Common sense is you should not share gaming accounts for 1 copy of the game. He should have his own copy/login (account) of the game. If you really want to play together give him the one you purchased for his bday now. Early birthday present...
  6. Hi, I'm making cheese and I left the raw cheese (waxed_ on the shelf to ripen. I forgot about them and came back to -days to ripen. Isn't it supposed to be cheddar cheese by now? How do I fix this? Screenshots attached. The first batch is negative days to ripen. The next batch is ~2 days away. Version 1.18.15 (Stable) Mods: Animal Cages. 7. Uh, you made 5 worlds and each of them crashed/corrupted yet you just reported this now? Why didn't you report it after the 1st or 2nd world? You could have posted the saves so that people/developer can try to restore/fix your world. We know nothing about your situation except you have mods and the game crashed. "but there is nothing more punishing and frustrating then watching your time and effort go down the Drain" It is possible that the mods corrupted the world(s) but you didn't even try to troubleshoot it seems. If I was watching my 'time and effort go down the Drain' I'd immediately ask the forums or at least the developer for help but that is just me. I'd also make a backup of the world before a new major release but again that is just me. I've played VS for a while and I've only seen crashes when the game is trying to load old mods that weren't updated to the more recent VS version. Updating to the newer versions of those mods or removing the mods that only supported older versions fixed my issues. You are welcome to come back when a more 'stable' version is released. Just remember to update those old mods!
  8. Yeah I think the issue is one of the mods. Perhaps Expanded Food mod. I'm not at my computer to verify it.
  9. Hi, I updated to 1.17.2 from 1.16.x and my handbook is empty! I uninstalled everything, including deleting the folder(s) from .appdata and installed 1.17.2 stable full version. The handbook is still empty! Any ideas? Thanks.
  10. Search 'How to make a Pit Kiln in 1.15 | VintageStory' on Youtube by SmileOnSpeedDial. That's how I learned to make mine. But basically you need grass, sticks and firewood. Place the clay items in the 1x1 hole, then grass then sticks and finally the firewood. Then light it. You need more firewood if you make the storage vessel.
  11. Apparently, you're supposed to use fire clay. I tried blue clay at first but it didn't work and I thought it was a bug. People were expecting to use any type of clay. There's no documentation. I also didn't know how to make a pit kiln. We only got this in the patch notes: All clay products are no longer fire-able in the fire pit. They now require a pit kiln Luckily someone uploaded a video on how to make a pit kiln in 1.15.x on YT. Changes to major mechanics in a game should be accompanied by proper documentation.
