here's my 2 cents, as someone who has dabbled in leatherworking, a grew up around people who hunted; the way I see it, they should go into excruciating detail, if they are worried about people being too squeamish, merely add options (eg, a toggle to fully disable the complex butchery, and another which only removes the rougher parts), while I can't say I've ever went hunting IRL, I have taken the lives of a fair number of animals, in the form of mercy killings, and/or accidents; and if I needed to, I would have absolutely no moral problems with doing so purposefully, it just does not interest me in the slightest, while other things do, plus I have little need since I'm not particularly fond of venison or rabbit, and I can get the other parts I do use (antlers and hides) from either family, flea markets or as sheds, so I have close to no need or interest in hunting.

my thoughts exactly. its about time people grow a backbone.

I'd also like to see this.

same here, and I might be able to help with a lot of that, since I'm basically IRL senku, if it gives you any idea, I've forged several full suits of high/late medieval armor; I've made gunpowder from scratch (never doing that again, 2 years later that part of the hill still smells like death); I've made a firelance based loosely off of the earliest surviving european depiction of one; I've built a small cabin using mostly historically accurate 16th century techniques; I've built a waterwheel that I currently use for powering the bellows on my coal forge; I've made a caplock muzzle loader based loosely off of the pattern 1800 rifle crossed with a long land pattern brown bess (its legal where I'm at); and possibly most impressively, I've designed and fabricated several different chemical rocket engines; the one I'm currently working on is pressure fed, runs on jet fuel and ~80% LOX, with a bit of ~60% H2O2 at startup, the injector face is based loosely off the XASR-1 and XLR-99 (I would go for something newer, but I don't have a security clearance, and anything newer than the 1950s is still classified), the bell nozzle is a bare bones heat sink with fuel rich film cooling and its currently entirely sea level optimized... its primitive as all hell by aerospace standards (which is to say, still highly complex), but for something cobbled together by a 22 year old with zero formal education past high school, its insanely impressive. to a point yes, but not entirely; I'd much prefer them to focus on getting the framework down, then focus on fleshing out each age progressively, so, the next major update could add renassiance era tech, plus flesh out all the others a bit, then repeat that for 18th century tech, then Victorian, then ww2, then spaceflight (possibly even escape the heavily implied return of the rot by resettling on the moon/mars/venus), then near future tech, after that, go back and start really going into autistic detail about the previous eras, after that is more or less done, maybe even consider far future tech like colonizing proxima centauri and/or building a solar dyson swarm. I realize I am talking about things that would be at minimum like 8 years in the future, but still...

most likely, it just hasn't been properly implimented yet, but I also can't necessarily rule out some sort of jonas tech... although the energy requriments would be immense even for a type 2 civilization, let alone the mid to low type 0 that is shown.

was there another mod that did that? I got this game like 9 months ago or something... it was when 1.20.7 was the current stable build...

and on federal money printers... seriously who in their right mind thinks this level of inflation is at all acceptable? -

I might not often agree with the roach streamer but he absolutely was right about that... like karens absolutely have existed for basically all of human history, but for 99.9% of it they had ample means to keep them in check, then in the past 100 years or so society has lost said means, that is how karens went from basically invisible to being in charge of most world governments... like why is it that you need a permit to buy a gun in some states? why is it that you need dozens of permits to build a house? permits are merely a way for the state to control your actions, like what (besides public outrage) is stopping the US from denying conservatives passports/drivers liscenses? basically nothing. call me whatever you want but it won't change the truth... -

here's a pretty good quote from my engineer friend "people design products, God designs idiots, therefore there is no such thing as a truly idiot proof product, no matter how many safeguards you include sooner or later God will design a dumber idiot" honestly, he ain't a bit wrong, like a certain level of safeguards can be good but the amount of idiot proofing in the US is massively overkill, like why do they need to put labels on tide pods saying not to eat them? why did my new dremel need to have a thing saying "not for rectal use"... like WHAT? doesn't that go without saying?! are people this effing dumb? -

yeah the same could be said for most of my dad's side of the family... they were jewish, Ukrainian, kulaks... literally all things that would get you g3nocided in the "tolerant soviet union"... the sole reason any of them survived is that my great grandma, her sister and her brother immigrated to the US... otherwise they would be in some mass grave right now... -
ok then it was a mod since the game called them a pilum...

I've been meaning to set that up, currently I'm just using the build in one...
