Good Morning Vintarians! I am no modder, but would very much like to learn. Is it possible to create a server mod that temporarily bans a player for a time (30 mins or maybe 6hrs) if that player dies and they don't have any "Souls" remaining. Souls would be an item or perhaps a GUI indicator (Like the health and Saturation bar) that can be traded amongst players as well! Without any souls or "if Souls < 0" then every time that player dies they get a Temporary Ban, making Death that much scarier to come by! Is this possible?? Please inquire even if you have an inkling of knowledge I have a server that I'd like to implement this mechanic into.

Hahaha not at all! I recognized your sarcasm tag at the end. Otherwise, I very well may have taken it that way

Hahaha there always has to be a devil's advocate! I appreciate you having a contrary viewpoint on the matters discussed, it's truly refreshing.

I suppose so? I really love Vintage Story and want to spread it to other players that may not know what it is!

WOW! Who else just heard the news??? Hytale is no longer in development and Hypixel Studios is shutting down. What are your thoughts? Any comments? Guesses as to what may have happened behind the scenes? Would love to open up these conversations

Good day to all my fellow Vintarians! I come to you today with a question of great importance! I'm on a quest to spread the word of Vintage Story as best as I can and I have noticed there is a lacking in diverse Videos for the game. Whether that's Guides, Tutorials or Just showing how to do things in the game. There are some very high-quality videos that I'm sure you've seen (and are every grateful for) but I'd like to add more to the pool! - Name a time where you searched for something and did not find a video for it and ended up having to figure out how to do it yourself. - Tell me something you wish there was more of out there (Timelapse Clayforming, Chiseling specific shapes or statues, etc.) Open for discussion! Let's talk about what more we as a community can create to spread the word or help new players as we were once in their shoes. Or simply just let me know your thoughts. What do you wish there was more of out there for Vintage Story?

An oversight of the devs or a feature? Let's hope it doesn't get patched!

Hahahahaha! Whoah! I can't wait to learn how to chisel. How did you hang this block upon the wall???

Hahaha great remark! Although TOBG is not as dastardly as the actual "He who shall not be named" I think it's a funny little ocmmunity thing that may actually help Vintage Story distinguish it from TOBG! Yes!! 100% one thing that drew me to Vintage Story was the... promise?... or maybe it's just a statement? of continuous development! I can see the passion within this game and the want and desire for the team to continue expanding on it! They are a great team and I'm grateful. Very valid point and one I wholeheartedly agree with! I also believe it serves well for VS to distinguish itself apart from TOBG. If it's constantly being compared to it, VS won't ever not be associated with it. TOBG is a grandfather so to speak to the block-game genre. It walked so Vintage Story could soar to new heights. TOBG served it's purpose and you're right, it should stand tall in it's own regard. I am also in the camp that if I were to go back to TOBG, I wouldn't enjoy it after Vintage Story. True! it does bring some traffic for curious gamers and fans of TOBG, but I think Vintage Story will and should stand on it's own! Thanks for your input Hahaha nice use of wordplay their. The vision for Vintage Story outgrew what was possible in TOBG that's a fact. and you're right. VS could eventually become it's own "TOBG". Thanks for your philosophical comment! Hey don't underestimate the newer generation! He may very well catch on to VS quite quickly hahahah! Hat's off to you friend, I think you're doing great and I do agree somewhat that TOBG is better for younger audiences. ah, the classic Vintage Story experience. Thanks for sharing your memories

Good morning all Seraphs and Vintarians o7 I come to you today with a question; In the ModDB Website their are two types of mods: Server-side, where they only need to be installed on a Server for everyone to experience the fun, and Client-side, where it effects each individual. (Think HUD type mods). Here is my question; There is another category called "Both" and I am a bit confused on it's meaning. The obvious is that the server and the player must have this mod to enjoy it, however when you join a server you are prompted to download the Mods. Does this count as downloading them to your client? It's to my understanding that mods download from servers go into a special "ModsByServer" folder. Do we have to then install these mods in our actual "%appdata%/VintagestoryDate/Mods" folder manually? Thank you and I am eager to everyone's responses

I have no faith that I can deliver a Modded Multiplayer experience and upkeep needed to maintain an active community. Are their any Modded Servers out there looking for more players? My goal is actually to stream and do YouTube on a server I would most likely play every day! Please let me know

I find it funny how most of us refer to the other block game as "the other block game". It's kind of unspoken and on multiple occasions I've seen it referred to as such. kind of like a "He who shall not be named" kind of thing hahaha. May Vintage Story continue to prosper! This is the best choice for the Sandbox Genre!

Ahhhh I'm loving this actually! So creative with the colors. At a glance it's easy to miss just how many different colors you used to accentuate the more prominent colors

WHOAH now that looks Pristine!! Great work!

I'd like to revive this post. Is it actually possible for someone to upload a build somewhere, so someone else may download it and directly add it to their world via world edit?
-
I don't think I made this clear, but once you've set up Vintage Story and are ready to launch, you must go back into Gaming Mode. Otherwise you won't be able to login with the Onscreen keyboard I believe. Please let me know if there is any more I can clarify!

Hello, all Seraphs and Vintarians! I am presenting a goal of mine; to create a Modded Server for all types of players to join and make it their home of choice! Not heavily modded but just Survival+ I should say. I am open to hearing out suggestions while I develop the server! The reason for this is because I love to be able to join a bustling world with it's own mini communities, villages, towns, cities, kingdoms etc. Player driven trading and Player crafted Laws and governments sound so fun! A place where I can log in, start a project and realize "Oh no! I don't have enough clay! Let me visit the nearest town with a Potter and see if he'd like to trade a stack for a stack of Wood". A world full of Player History for the entirety of Vintage Story's life and thereafter! That sort of scenario (and many others like it are very very exciting to me! I don't know if there are others that share this sentiment, but if there are, this server will be your home. I more than likely will not have world resets (unless Vintage Story goes through world gen breaking updates) and the mods may have 1 or 2 Generation changing mods. The rest will be items, recipes and mechanical changes! I will continue to nurture this plan of mine and provide more details for those who are interested! Please reach out, let's discuss!

Hi everybody! I created a Video Guide for installing Vintage Story on the Steam Deck based on @mard Guide! Mods please let me know if this is not allowed. I know there are those that prefer visual guidance rather than text based, so I thought I'd do my part for the community! That's all! Have a wonderful day! - Enjen
