Not a bad point but I was talking about the waterwheel itself and those can freeze over and just stop. I would love a mechanic for that, get a hammer and free it from the ice!

But in the real world people build dams to gain a powersource, perhaps there could be additional checks the game does to determine if flowing water will turn rapid. I understand that the game should not be too easy and therefore the rapids need to be restricted but there should be something else done. I actually have not checked how common rapids are perhaps you could just build an aqueduct and connect them in a way that will make them usable in your power network. There also is the issue of overheating. I hope when the update comes in full that it will be fun to use and work with. That is the most important thing, therefore sometimes restrictions can be bad.

Water should turn into rapid water if it moves down at a certain steepness for a certain amount of blocks. Simple solution to the problem of limited rapid water. You can move other water sources so why not "move" rapid water? Another thing could be that the water when turning rapid will move dirt, gravel, sand out of the way and create "rivers" that way the players would need to actually build something to hold it and you would not just get an inifinite amount of rapid water for basically free! Also it needs to interact with cold weather! No waterpower for you in winter, just how there sometimes is no wind. Not sure if that already is a thing in the game, imagine a frozen waterwhell! That should balance it nicely!

1.22.0-pre.1 - Fishing, Mechanisms, Metalworking and More!

Did not see anything about it but I hope tree saplings and certain nut trees will get higher drop rates. Perhaps turn them into fruittrees? There really should be better access to nuts as a fully grown tree (takes nearly a decade I think) gives around 25 kg of nuts. Imagine being able to get the oil from those! I think it is a specific species of tree that can be used for that. Hope we will get that in the future! -

Fixed: Rice and flax grain were being eaten by animals when they should not Is this talking about plants or dropped items? If it is dropped item like I think then that was a cool little feature. I would drop grains for my elk and he would eat it. I like that, hope it becomes a feature!

Will coral regrow? Those walls look nice for building!

I will take a look when it drops! Looking forward to what your new team will put out.

When they were bought by China via Riot Games (Tencent) I stopped following them as that was a sign that the project was gonna fail. They held out quite long I have to admit. Please Hytale fans come to this game, it has a somewhat steep learning curve but it also has a handbook. So just go into your first character without big plans and go for it, check everything out. When you have a grasp for the game go into the game with bigger goals in mind like building a proper house or exploring really far out > 30 something kilometers is what I did, it was pure horror when I ran out of food on my way back (thanks berrybushes for keeping me barely alive!) but I found so many amazing things! Hope you will find a home here! Welcome.

Oh and on topic of the update the sound goes off even after the fix. Seems to be slightly longer now till it happens or at least that is what it seems.

The combat overall is not fun, ranged is okay, needs quivers for arrows and spears and just quality of life stuff to carry your tools (there are many in the game after all) like toolbelts to free up some slots > needs to be balanced of course. Oh and healing items should just be used much slower the more armor you are wearing instead of healing less, that would make more sense. Melee combat: The game uses some kind of system that feels like hitscan and enemies can hit you very easily even you are moving and it does not feel fair at all when they throw stones backwards to hit you perfectly. I beat the first boss and it was a drag. Weapons like swords that should slice and hit everything in front of you, do not hit because you only 1. stab and also 2. dont actually seem to have a proper hitbox for the weapon. It feels very wrong. I hope they will fix it. Example: Light armor/mobile characters should not be punished like that. More weapon types are also welcome, where are my spears and bigger shield combos? Only small throwing spears? Axes, hammers? Chance to stun for hammers? Alternate playstyles are welcome, more opportunities to roleplay. That should be one of the next big projects for the game. One can hope.

Well that is a horrible bug. Also fine work on the lag-fix, it was annoying.

They will sometimes go into the wall for a short time when I hit them but they will come back and recover. When their deathanimation plays and they fall into the wall, like my cellar, they go through the wall and then up like items do when you cover them in blocks. Chickens have phased into blocks while alive when I tried to leash them. I meant to add the dark night and not only caves in that comment, there are also places underground or in ruins you simply can not reach to light up and they will spill drifters everywhere. I was just in my cellar and came back up to find that the ruin I am staying in spawned drifters on the roof where it is flat. I was just there only a couple blocks away. The spawning and throwing behaviour needs to be tuned, even with a shield it is frustrating and they will get cheap hits in over and over when they come from all sides like during a storm. Looking forward to what will come next.

Some bugs/problems I found: As mentioned above leads are too broken for getting most animals, it would be nice if we could tire the animals out and then drag them easier. Lots of times going up a block is not possible while having an animal leashed. Enemies and animals can phase through walls, most notably the bowtorn. This also happens when dying due to the animation. I had a chicken phase into a log when I leashed it and it was stuck there, but I am not sure about it being stuck there forever due to them being so strong. Maybe I could not get it pulled out. Fires seem to heat items (example: flint, lime, bushmeat) only one at a time, I am not sure if that is intended. It uses lots of fuel because of that. I hope drifters will stop throwing rocks at every opportunity because I can not have a shield up when I am in a dark cave, they are throwing them when I am right in front of them, they are also incredibly accurate. Oh and they can defy gravity when throwing straight up, happened on a long ladder to me, ouch my behind. Maybe add a lanternslot or a belt item for holding some things like pouches with arrows, throwing spears and lanterns for easy storage and usage/quick access. I hope elks will make their way into the wilds soon instead of only being purchasable. Update is looking good! Will build a boat soon, the raft is not enough.

Chickens are more powerful than the pigs, I could not get any because of that.
