I know exactly how you feel, vintage story is full of "wow thats a thing?" moments, and everything feels so well thought out. Every time the game inspires me and i think of something that would be cool to add its already in the roadmap im looking forward to seeing your cheese cellar once you make one

.net 8 from the direct download link doesnt seem to work for the new update, .net 10 works perfectly for me, the wiki just hasnt been updated on it yet

I had the same problem and fixed it by downloading .net 10 as opposed to .net 8 that was used before. The wiki hasnt been updated on the change. Make sure to use the x64 rather than the version made for apple silicon chips Im on an m4 macbook air and made the mistake of downoading the arm64 version first

At the moment steel and various alloys of it are the best thing we have for many tools in the real world as well, titanium is softer, and tungsten is too hard to work with and brittle the only upgrade option i can think of for vintage story is whatever the material of the temporal gears is There does seem to be stainless steel planned, which could be a use for chromium. I assume it would be used for more complex machinery as in our world
