Introduction: Hey everyone, I want to introduce you to a new server called "Steam and Mud", which recently launched on 5/22/2026, so nearly a week ago. The server already got a pretty large population currently always ranking under the top 10 Vintage Story servers and reaches about 60 - 80 players during peak hours and a minimum of 15 - 20 when its night time or early morning for most of the world. What SAM has to offer: -> It's a civilization server -> It's a PVP orientated server with a unique interactive war and border system, despite that it's still very PVE friendly for those who dislike PVP. -> A great variety of factions -> Viable trench warfare, already practiced and tested in the server network tests. -> Fast and easy to fill out applications and whitelists. -> A stable server that enables dozens of people next to each other fighting without lag, tested in large network tests before the server launched. -> A very responsive Admin team that investigates even the smallest complaint immediately -> Most of the existing community has been playing on other servers together before and has gathered a very dedicated player base who has been constantly playing the game near daily leading to a very consistent player count. -> No seasons or regular resets, the server will go on as long as people will want to play on it. -> Friendly to newcomers to the game and servers like this -> Lot's of fun and chill people Server Inspirations: Fallout, Trench Crusade, Warhammer 40k, WW1, Steampunk Lore: Basically the basic Vintage Story lore but rewritten a ton to fit the scenario; Admins are about to drop some more detailed lore books soon.
