  1. Ya I think most people in that situation just re-smelt the workpiece to start over.  But adding another ingot is always an option too.  Hopefully at some point Tyron will get time to fix the escape auto-selecting arrowheads thing - it's been known for a long time, he just hasn't had the time.  It's definitely not a good feeling when it happens.

  2. No there's no limited copies.  What country are you, and what type of payment are you attempting?   Some people have reported problems with I think some kind of cash card or such.  I think the problem is fairly rare for EU or USA people though.

  3. Yes you want to watch hide-based recipes (and really all recipes) closely to make sure they're not size or material limited.   I believe the recipe for small pelts is going to be removed though, since nothing can be made from them.

It burns at 1300C is there anything that burns hotter then that?

Not currently.  However be aware that for things like iron and quartz->glass, you use the bloomery.  The bloomery ignores the fuel-based temperature constraints.   It is it's own process block with it's own rules.  For anything you would want to melt in the crucible, any form of coal should work fine.

  5. There is lore behind all of this, but most of the lore hasn't really made it into the game yet.  You'll find snippets of journals and such in underground ruins.  In time, there will be more than traders as far as npcs go.  This is just where things are at right now.  There's been more of a focus on nuts and bolts content, rather than lore content, for most of the development to this point.   In time, things will be much more cohesive lore-wise, though possibly still fairly mysterious when you start, and take time to piece it all together in-game.

Thanks! But how i can change spawn point?

You need a temporal gear.  This is a rare drop from driters, is rarely sold by some traders, and I think may also possibly be an extremely rare subterranean ruin loot.

How i can translate the game?

I would hop on discord, there is a wiki and translations channel there.   Translating is done by the community, via a website, I forget which.

  7. Streetwind is correct Gazz, what you're talking about is a mod.   In vanilla you can't pan muddy gravel at all, for anything.  Regular sand and gravel  only return stones of the stone type they already are, in vanilla.  So in vanilla you can only pan limestone from limestone sand or gravel.  And that means you already found a limestone biome and don't need to pan for it anyway.

does food still decay while you are offline if its stored in a container created by you?

By default, if nobody is on the server, time freezes.   However, if you are absent, but other players are on, everyone's food will decay.  This is because it's based on the calendar.  As long as the calendar progresses, time progresses.

Now, recently a config options was added to make time progress even when *nobody* is online.  So if your particular server has opted into that config, then time will keep passing no matter what.

What is the function of the "Pin" slot on the world map?  I set waypoints when I find things and they stay where I put them, so was wondering what "Pin" does.

pinning the waypoint makes it so that in your minimap, if the waypoint is outside the visible minimap area, it still shows a pip for it on the edge of the minimap.  Basically it makes a pointer toward that waypoint, that is visible no matter how far you are from it.

  10. You haven't missed any thread, but the first step to steel is in the works right now, and will be in the next update.  It's not exactly what you describe, but does have several elements you seek.  This will be just the first path, and the harder path, but at least we will have *a* path.

"sprint" is not a useful instruction for new players. ctl or other keyboard alternative; ie mac or Asian keyboards.

The problem is, people can and do rebind their sprint key to a different button.  Sprint key is a very common target of rebinding.

What modeling software is recommended for making blocks for VS? What is the block size relative to blender etc?

Vintage Story has it's own modeling program, Vintage Story Model Creator (VSMC), which is downloadable from the website.  It's based on I think Mr. Crayfish's program for Minecraft.  Simple but effective.

  13. Oh wow, didn't even realize it was possible to cure small pelts.  That's definitely a oversight-bug.  If you're in single player, I'd suggest going into creative mode (/gamemode 2) and use the 'inventory' to replace the wasted hides.  gamemode 1 goes back to survival mode.

  14. If you want peaceful mode, it's also worth mentioning that there are configs for mob aggression, including 'only attacks if you attack first', and totally passive.    But ya as far as disabling hunger entirely I'm not sure.   @Tyron would know.   But there's also creative mode, which definitely disables hunger.  But it also changes inventory so maybe that's not what you want.

  15. Seed only really affects terrain afaik.  You'll get the same terrain generation, and same stone layers, and also I think the same ore maps.   Everything else is random I think.   So ruins will be different, traders will be different, even individual trees, crops patches, etc will be different, I think.   Specific ore veins will be different, but I think the general per-mille densities that the first propick mode detects should remain in the same spots.  This is my impression.

So far I can't find a way to move a water source block or fill a deleted water block that's generating a flow.

With the bucket, hold sprint and right click, I think it is.   You have to target a solid side that is adjacent to the block to be filled.  And sometimes it can be a bit finicky.
