Dr B Posted February 11, 2024 Report Posted February 11, 2024 With the lovely planter and pot options out there, I would love if you had the ability to take trimmings from a tree and turn them into bonsai. I am not asking for a full-fledged system where you grow and train them or anything, just a way to put a cutting into a pot and have it look like a little bonsai. Even better (and more suitable) if you could put the cuttings into food bowls. If someone wanted to get fancy, it would be amazing if you could get different styles of bonsai based on the type and number of cutting(s) used and where you put it in the crafting grid in relation to the pot (and not just randomly get one when you right-clicked the planter). Thanks for reading. 4

LadyWYT Posted October 22, 2025 Report Posted October 22, 2025 To my knowledge, you can stick a tree seed into any planter and get a bonsai bush version of the adult tree. There's just only one bush model. 2 1

There's just only one bush model. It uses the sapling model, but yeah, this is true. CORRECTION: actually, I’m wrong here, but only with planters. When I wrote this, I was unaware that saplings have a unique model in a planter; they do, however, use the sapling model in a flowerpot. Edited October 25, 2025 by Facethief Correction 2
Jochanaan Fair-Schulz Posted October 22, 2025 Report Posted October 22, 2025 Being able to "chisel" the leaves of a Bonsai tree, or just sculpt hedges in general, would be pretty neat. 2 1
Facethief Posted October 25, 2025 Report Posted October 25, 2025 I just visited the treasure hunter’s hut again and realized that saplings have a different model in planters. The more you know!
