How have your thoughts on the "salvation engine" and the green material evolved in the 10 months since you first finished the RA? They have, which I'll probably end up posting when I do my write-up on chapter two. May go for that this weekend. I know there's a few clues about it in chapter two. And a few of my theories seem to have proven to be correct, though not all(and not necessarily the ones regarding the Salvation Engine either). 2 hours ago, cjc813 said: OH, AND THAT ONE MESSED UP ROOM WITH ALL THE CRAP COMING OUT OF THE WALLS AND CIELING! It almost looked like the rust world warped in and then got stuck or something. I think it's in the noble's area? I think you mentioned it elsewhere, too. It is in the Noble Quarters, yeah. My theory on why that occurred has since changed, given where else you find those rusty tendrils...though I will not be saying where you find them here. 2 hours ago, cjc813 said: There's a lot of stuff like that where things just seem otherworldly/messed up/weird. The destruction seems worse than normal wear and tear. The environmental storytelling seems to suggest something cataclysmic happened. Reckon it had to do with them setting off the salvation machine? Oh it absolutely did, without a doubt. Again, I'm not going to go into detail here, as that's best suited for a different thread. What I will say though, is that while I do believe quite a bit is left up to the player to draw their own conclusions, the environmental design is very important when it comes to figuring certain things out. When you see overlapping designs, they're usually related in some fashion.

He actually doesn't know where it is after the world got scrambled, which is fun because it canonises the ability to remotely communicate with the Chamber via functional bell - and of course, we all know he has a functional bell. Love that little guy.

We know Jonas built the bells, but him assisting with the echo chamber itself isn't stated. Matter of fact, one of the logs mentions Jonas almost as though he wasn't directly involved. It's the reason he has maps delivered to familiar locations - because he can't explain the directions from the RA since he doesn't know where it actually is.
