Hello! My name is Cricket. I am obsessed with chiseling! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out via dm. I am tech illiterate LOL, and haven't used a forum before- so please bear with me as I figure this out. I figured I'd post a small intro, and post updates as I go. Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my work!

This reply will showcase the "Gorgeous" furniture set from Animal Crossing City Folk. It was never added to new horizons, and I could never afford it anyway- the entire set costing 1,778,000 bells. I wanted to recreate it in Vintage Story, and this was my result! None are perfect replicas, I took artistic liberties when i saw fit.image.thumb.jpeg.3ec522dc8d4d77dc6fb9c95e2289fb5b.jpeg

I used the larger of my two showrooms to showcase the animal crossing set. This is the smaller showroom. Due to large rainfall in this area of my creative flat chiseling world, I've erected a small tent to provide extra space. And what would I need extra workspace for? Well, I want to turn my tiny showroom, into a tiny show/home/! I'd like to see how much detail AND utility I can pack into this 4*6 block room.

A small anecdote I'd like to remember in the future- I've just hit 24 irl hours in my creative flat world! I look at my small collection of chiselworks and think... This is just the start.2024-05-09_17-31-03.thumb.png.94822875d0e2d1bd6860d3b9872d4668.png

I've taken the last couple hrs to work on the exterior and interior foundations and architecture. With a typical tiny home, you wouldn't be able to lower the main level- but our showroom is on a foundation! This ol girl is not mobile *slaps tiny home,* so I've dropped down the main floor by one block, and left the original roof. Here are some photos of the progress! 2024-05-0919_47_19.365-0500.thumb.jpg.b8c3eb45e7b47730ac9ba86342ebe252.jpg2024-05-0919_44_55.557-0500.thumb.jpg.9fcd264f535c8323133e9ed7bde7489b.jpg2024-05-0919_46_22.617-0500.thumb.jpg.6f85ef1b4d91705bca03c1520aa0789e.jpg

^ a couple shots from before to get an idea of where I started.

I've exchanged ebony for oak, and raised the conglomerate rock foundation by one block to make the first floor entirely stone. As you can see, the top loft is not even. I wanted to make sure one wall was two high, as I see this becoming the bedroom- and wanted to ensure I could fit the bed's headboard and nightstands. It may take a few days for the next update, but I love this game.. we'll see ♥️

Been a little while, but it's "Tornad-er" season near me- and the weather has gotten a *bit* dicey. Before I switch gear for just a moment, I wanted to share the recent bed I've added to the tiny home!

I was driving to Walmart, as all typical Americans do- and what should I spot, but the most beautiful desk/vanity on the side of the road. Inspiration struck to gild some of the accent pieces in gold. I also wanted to make the desk in Vintage story, and make it into a small short for various social medias. Over-all, I *cannot* recommend gold gilding inside your own home with your domestic vacuum cleaner. The foil went right through my vacuum's filter, and into the motor. Getting off topic, lol- I love my vacuum. Below are before and after shots of the physical desk I put in my bedroom. PXL_20240511_225044170.thumb.jpg.d6e16f7b33fd6ab17cae87296e63f2c9.jpg

Before ^

I love vintage furniture, and you *know* I whipped a *safe* U turn and snatched this up as quickly as I could. There was a white sprayed substance on the feet, but it wasn't paint, and cleaned off with some elbow grease. I used a wet magic eraser on the top, and oiled it a few times and let her "drink." All of the brass casters are in good condition, and the drawers have dovetail joints!

After ^

I didn't want the gold to be overwhelming or tacky, so I only added it to some of the accents, though I feel like I could get away with doing a few more rings around the legs in strategic spots. As for the Vintage Story side of this project, I ended up making three different desks, chiseling for multiple hours. I just didn't feel the ratio of the front two(photo below) were good/accurate enough, as I made them pre gilding the actual desk.

In the end, I opted to make this 11 tile big boy.

Looking forward to updating with more handcarved goodness here soon ❤️

Hello again! Spent some time reconstructing the canopy bed(no longer a canopy), and added some custom side tables and a lamp! Added in some base game bookshelves, as well as a flower pot. ❤️
I'm working on some "chairs through the ages," so the next post will feature chairs from late midevil era, tudor, louix xv, victorian, eduardian, and mid century modern chairs for anyone looking for inspiration! This will probably start a long line of different categories of "Furniture through the ages," and I'm thinking about making a thread dedicated to that alone. Feel free to message me if you think that's a good/bad idea. I'm still learning forum etiquette, lol.

I think we are about finished with the loft portion of the mini home! If anyone has any suggestions, I am always open to add more. Thank you FishPickles for the idea to add a small outdoor area, fish mod best mod 🙏🏻

I've gone ahead and added some hanging fairy lights, a small art piece behind the bed, a rug, my phone (plugged into a brass outlet ofc), a stool, and some (base game) old books! I'm looking forward to working on the downstairs/kitchen/dining area. I want to make sure it's more... Functional- than the loft, lol.

Did a little research this morning into QP's Chisel mod- really wanted to figure out how to save my chisels to the portfolio, but having issues. Can't figure out how to save a chisel without it changing the materials for all my other portfolio saved chisels... Regardless- in researching that, I found out about ~decorative~ blocks I didn't know of previously, like the decorative oven and chest. In making the tiny kitchen for our tiny home, I was able to make a functioning modernized stainless steel stove, and the cabinetry is all functional as well! I personally prefer one large basin for a sink, and darker basalt countertops. We are really getting this mini home whipped into shape! Another slight issue I've encountered- the color of the decorative blocks are slightly different from the normal chiselled blocks- and you can see if you look closely at the cabinets glass, or the ancient stone in the sink.2024-06-0111_36_22.216-0500.thumb.jpg.29b17f9aa1af24888783126090a75d4b.jpg2024-06-0111_36_55.005-0500.thumb.jpg.da3b99d440acfdf340b7e3f3c35a95b9.jpg2024-06-0111_39_27.962-0500.thumb.jpg.734e8c72cedd897bd9ab9077ac27d6cb.jpg

Hello all! I know it's been a solid moment since I've posted an update here. I've honestly found a love for making and editing gaming(basically only Vintage Story lol) content on YouTube and TikTok! Editing takes up a lot more time than I initially expected, but I think I've finally found the perfect way to piece out my schedule.

As for the mini home! She is finished. COMPLETED. donezo  😄

I'll be posting some glamour shots below. Be aware that all cabinets and bedside tables are chiselled blocks-, mixed with decorative chests from QP's Chisel tools mod- the oven is absolutely functional(as spoken about in previous updates). That being said:
