Why do my chickes get spooked even though i am behind a wall?

I recently cought wild chickens and hens and i wish they were brooding properly but they seem to get spooked even through solid walls of their henhouse i built then specifically so they could nest in peace...

any ideas or mods out there that take away chicken X ray vision?

There's ChickenSit, but it only helps after generation 1.

The amazing detection radius of chickens is why I put them far away from anywhere I usually go.

Weeeelll...  Animals (like chimkens) generally have better hearing than highly intelligent critters like humans and seraphs. 

The best way to prevent spooked chickens (without mods) is to put the chicken pen at least 11 blocks from where you regularly travel so that you don't inadvertently spook them.
