Feycat Posted September 22, 2024 Report Posted September 22, 2024 I just noticed that while I had a huge thunderstorm going on, my windmills were still. The wind speed should definitely at least be related to the weather. No reason you can't have a strong wind during a clear day, but having a calm wind during a huge storm is really not immersive.

It's also not unusual for strong winds to accompany heavy rain, though the strongest wind is generally due to the squall line moving through. That being said, for a violent storm with lots of rain, I would certainly expect strong winds to go with it. 2
Maelstrom Posted September 26, 2024 Report Posted September 26, 2024 Where I live it's a crap shoot whether the wind will precede the storm, continue through the storm or no wind whatsoever. Summer thunderstorms can be anywhere from 5 minutes up to 40 minutes and I've seen all three of those situations every single summer. 2
EtherealVan Posted Sunday at 04:08 PM Report Posted Sunday at 04:08 PM I think strong winds should cause damage to weak structures that aren't blocked but environment or stronger structures like blowing thatched roofs off, but still able to be picked back up. Rain weakening packed dirt over time would be a nice addition. Just some ideas.
