Micah Holmes Posted October 30, 2024 Report Posted October 30, 2024 I tried to submit my mod for the first time but it forced it to be a draft and would not let me upload the files. Then when I refreshed the page, the info was gone. I added my mod on the forums but the "submit mod" section appears to not allow you to upload? Im confused and I cant find any documentation on how to submit/publish.

And then set to publish and save Edited October 30, 2024 by DejFidOFF
Micah Holmes Posted October 30, 2024 Author Report Posted October 30, 2024 I would not let me upload that file type. Its a zip file said only accepted png
Streetwind Posted October 30, 2024 Report Posted October 30, 2024 You don't upload to the forums. You use https://mods.vintagestory.at/
Micah Holmes Posted October 30, 2024 Author Report Posted October 30, 2024 (edited) Wont let me add a mod id or mod version number: I don't understand your release system to be honest. I selected a compatible mod version, the other boxes are disabled. I know this is my first time submitting a mod but It really should be a straight forward process. Should be a simple fill out this web forum & upload for submission mod review release to public I feel like your adding a lot unnecessary steps tot he process and I don't see any instructions that define the submission process. Again I'm new but I do know a thing or two about development and processes/UI and work flows. Just a suggestion. Should be more streamlined, more user friendly and please POST INSTRUCTIONS. xXx_Ape_xXx Posted October 31, 2024 Report Posted October 31, 2024 You need to have a file called "modinfo.json" inside your zip, containing information that will automatically be filled in when you upload a file. If it's not, you're either missing the file, it's not formatted according to the description on the mod tutorial pages, or the content of your zip is not in the correct hierarchy that is required. 1
Micah Holmes Posted October 31, 2024 Author Report Posted October 31, 2024 (edited) I used ModMaker utility: If I had to guess, your tools may not be Linux friendly? IDK I'm using Linux Mint. I followed the instructions in the Tut. It generated the mod fine and works on my single player machine and my friend private server. Not sure what to do here Edited October 31, 2024 by Micah Holmes
Micah Holmes Posted October 31, 2024 Author Report Posted October 31, 2024 Update: I got my mod submitted. I dont know why the "Mod Version" box and other boxes magically became enabled. But once they allowed me to edit their information, it worked. Thank you
