boyo Posted December 12, 2024 Report Posted December 12, 2024 I was exploring around my world and making a massive path to take me east when I saw this structure on the minimap, I decided to check it out. It looks like a tomb to me but I'm not sure. I was wondering bc I don't want to start trashing the place and digging stuff up if theres nothing to uncover. just curious
gilt-kutabe Posted December 12, 2024 Report Posted December 12, 2024 @boyo Personally, I’ve never found anything loot-wise in those plain stone ruins, nor have I seen any sources that found loot in them. Or interesting chiseled blocks, for that matter. I’d say it’s pretty safe to assume that there’s no reason to excavate them other than for fun.
LadyWYT Posted December 12, 2024 Report Posted December 12, 2024 Summoning @ifoz for expert opinion! In my experience, I've not found anything particularly noteworthy about those ruins other than they're just a landmark, but then again, I've not gone trying to dig them up either. You could switch your gamemode to spectator for a moment and poke around to see if there's any loot to be found. If there is, then you can switch back to survival and go digging, but if not, then you can switch back to survival and continue playing as normal. Just make sure that you aren't clipped into the terrain or hovering too far above the ground when you switch back to survival mode; wouldn't do to awkwardly go splat.
boyo Posted December 12, 2024 Author Report Posted December 12, 2024 yeah, didnt want to mess up the ruins for nothing, thanks for letting me know

This is what I call an 'ancient ruin' (made out of entirely rock blocks) This specific one does not hide any treasure to my knowledge, but does look pretty neato. Some of them do hide treasure in stone that you'll need a pick to crack open. 2
