Hi!
I'm not a native english speaker, yet I'll try to explain the best I can the annoying synopsis I went through ^^'

As I'm left handed, my right hand is located around the arrow keys... Thus I setup a lot of custom controls!
At some point I got fed up with having to move all the way to the escape key to close all windows and I decided to change it for the insert key but...
That only changed the pause/menu behavior x_x' So, I decided to rebind back the escape key and use AutoHotKey to invoke Escape through the insert key ^^ But!..
The escape key in controls setup window only serves as a mean to cancel the "let's choose a key for this action", so the only way to revert back that key was to reset default and erase all the changes I made before 😞

I'd suggest to add a control setting for "Close all windows" and allow using the same key for pause/menu...

Escape in Controls should just setup the escape key and, for QoL purpose, for any control changing you could prompt a dialog window such as

"Changing ${action} from ${key} to ..."

                  [Click to cancel]

Eager to try the 1.20 out! Thx for your consideration :-3
Oh, and happy new year 😄

That would be grand. I an older issue tyron stated, that rebinding ESC would be a bit more complicated. Maybe one could ask in that issue if this is still a considered change.

Never would have occurred to me given I'm not left-handed, but yeah, if there's issues with rebinding keys to accommodate a left-handed playstyle they ought to be smoothed out.

It would be ^^ But it's not required 😛
I'm a dev : one can add an event listener without removing existing ones 😉
Escape could continue to work as it already does and there would be other keys for "open menu" and "close all widows"!..
