First time I've had this happen. Got killed after like five drifters spawned in my house in a temporal storm. Since my respawn point was only a few blocks away at my bedside, I decided to wait a while until the storm was over. One of the drifters still hadn't despawned by dawn, so I stepped outside and let him run away. When I went back in, no body, no items.

Are you using a mod? In the vanilla game, you won't leave a body behind if you die, but you will drop your items if you didn't have "keep inventory on death" set to true.

For the vanilla game, I believe dropped items despawn after ten minutes by default, so if you waited a while for the temporal storm to end before trying to retrieve your items, it's very likely that you exceeded that grace timer. 😕 If you don't want to sink the extra time and resources into remaking all of your lost items, you can simply use /gm 2 to switch to creative, give yourself whatever you lost(that you care to replace), and use /gm 1 to switch back to survival when you're done.

Yea.... As Lady WYT said. Items timing out is bs. I get why its done, but i still think its stupid. There's a reason why the corpse mod on the mod database is one of the most popular ever.

Odd. I've sat through temporal storms after dying several times, never had this happen. And yeah, this was probably over 10 minutes (barely), but so were the dozens of times in the past when the body remained. Oh well. I vaguely remembered what was in my inventory and used creative mode to replace it all. Wasn't about to lose a copper pick that early.
