I’m currently playing a vanilla vintage story hosted server and I’m playing with the clock maker class. For some odd reason when mining ores I have a chance at double drops while my friend playing does not (he’s black guard) does anyone know why?

press C and check your traits. clockmaster might give you a boost (not sure tho)

I’ve read the wiki which never specified anything of the sort but I can look again ingame

At a guess, you have a client-side drop mod. I'm think it's still the case that you have to disable client side mods or they will still load.

I have no mods installed, I haven't gotten into mods yet and am still playing vanilla.

I want to say that sometimes ore deposits will drop two chunks instead of the standard one chunk. That's in the base game, unmodded, as far as I am aware. My guess is your Blackguard friend is just getting very unlucky, while you're having better luck with the drops.

Oh alright, thank you!

Oh, doh!

I was thinking chunks to nuggets, not deposits to chunks. And not aware of it ever being random, nor getting either 1 or 2.

I'd have to double-check on vanilla, as I've been playing more modded recently. But I could swear it's a thing, just more rare than the single drop.

Oh, I know it is.  Pretty sure it's 5/4. I'm just like that horse who grabbed the bit in his teeth.  Once I had latched onto the idea he was talking about crushing ore, not mining it, I couldn't think past it.
