-Glue- Posted February 23, 2025 Report Posted February 23, 2025 So I finally started a new 1.20 world, and discovered these strange shaded chunks while looking for a place to settle down. There wasn't any floating islands, so I figured they may be lighting errors. I tried breaking and placing blocks, or placing torches. Nothing. I tried restarting my game. Still there. They seem to be a persistent visual bug. The weird part is, when I stand inside of the darkness, the game goes quiet, and an eerie ambient song starts playing. I don't recall hearing the music anywhere else in the game, though, I haven't really explored the game to its fullest yet. (Still have yet to get to the Resonance Archives, planning on doing that for the first time on this world.)

I've moved on from that area, but if I run into any more, or go back, I will keep that in mind to try out, thank you!
Kyle Rick Posted February 23, 2025 Report Posted February 23, 2025 I had a few chunks that where like that as well, pitch black but nothing else wrong with them. Using this debug "/debug chunk relight" command fixed them myself. The command above "/debug cr" just gives a list of commands on my end. 1 2

I must have given an outdated command. Sorry for that. It's interesting though, that "cr" stopped working. Generally many VS commands have abbreviations of the written-out versions. Cheers for the heads-up!

Now the only question remains: do I really want to relight my dark chunk or should I keep it as a mysterious spot and build a fence around it?
