Chuckerton Posted April 18, 2025 Report Posted April 18, 2025 The wiki says generation 2 and above ewes can be milked at a 5% chance to become distressed, my ewe is generation 2, and 3 or 4 days in a row its become too stressed when i try to milk it (when the tooltip says you can). Is this a bug, or does the wiki not say something important, or is it just bad luck? I dont have any mods.
gilt-kutabe Posted April 18, 2025 Report Posted April 18, 2025 @Chuckerton The ‘Animal Husbandry’ wiki page says 5% chance of distress at gen 2, the ‘Sheep’ wiki page says 33% at gen 2, so I’m going to say one (or both) are wrong. I don’t know if this works with sheep, but with goats, you can just sit and hold the bucket on it until you get milk, even if it says it’s distressed. It might take a little while to fully milk it, though. You might want to build a safe spot to try to milk them from, too.

It may take a few minutes, but they do calm back down and then you can try again. If you're doing that and she's still getting stressed, then I would chalk it up to bad luck, although if it keeps happening I might consider submitting a bug report.
Chuckerton Posted April 21, 2025 Author Report Posted April 21, 2025 Well i installed the latest update (1.20.8), and i was able to finally milk the ewe without it stressing. Not really sure if it was a bug or just really bad luck either, but if it stays normal I wont really be able to test it further. I guess its a win
