FennecGamer Posted April 23, 2025 Report Posted April 23, 2025 I've been playing for about a week now ,and have done some minor cave exploration just to see what it's like (and have died but play with keep inventory on for now). During those expiditions, I did actually find some rusty gears just laying on the ground, rarely. However I've noticed finding some new ones in locations that I've definitely already explored and that were not there prior. Do they occasionally regenerate or "drop" in place, as if the drifters are dropping them?
Thorfinn Posted April 23, 2025 Report Posted April 23, 2025 To the best of my knowledge, no, they do not. Pretty sure I saw them in worldgen, so they should only come back if you regen the block.
LadyWYT Posted April 23, 2025 Report Posted April 23, 2025 Welcome to the forums! To my knowledge, they do not respawn, though you can find them occasionally lying on the ground in caves. What's probably happening is that you're overlooking some of them when you first explore the cave, and only noticing them on one of your return trips. Hence why they seem to "respawn". Given how dark the underground is, rusty gears can be hard to spot, especially if they generated in a place that you need to be looking at a specific angle to see them.
