Grapesalad Posted May 15, 2025 Report Posted May 15, 2025 I'm aware this is a game feature, to make it easier to see the depth of things but i find it a bit weird when the inside of my house is so dark on the walls that don't have sunlight towards them i mean the sun shouldn't be affecting the inside of my house in the first place but also, I have a lamp in my house, but the wall that the lamp is on is darker than the walls around it? it just looks weird does anyone else feel this way? 1
LadyWYT Posted May 16, 2025 Report Posted May 16, 2025 I've seen some oddities in lighting; some of it hinges on game settings. Vintage Story is still pretty early in development though, so it's to be expected to have some goofiness here and there. The lighting system is definitely something that will likely go through some significant adjustments before the game is considered a finished product.
Maelstrom Posted May 16, 2025 Report Posted May 16, 2025 Tyron seems to be experimenting with using multiple dimensions to accomplish things, boats and lighting is another. I have a forge/workshop at about 200 elevation and sometimes get some wickedly dense fog up there. Slightly more often the lighting is so bad that it's practically a cave even though the place has plenty of lanterns to light it up.
