bven Posted June 6, 2025 Report Posted June 6, 2025 I'm not sure if this is a bug or not but 4 days ago I took a picture of a cave right beside my house. I haven't played this game for very long, I'm pretty new, but I have noticed that even if you are in an area for long periods of time, entities don't spawn this much. And just a few minutes ago I stumbled upon an insane amount of fish. I'm not sure why, usually I'll only see a max of 5 fish in a pretty large pond. This as well is sort of close to my house but not somewhere I stay for long. 1 2
Maelstrom Posted June 6, 2025 Report Posted June 6, 2025 Looks like you were left out of the time warp loop! Seriuosly, that is some serious critter spawnage. That cave looks like the inside of an ant colony!

I had something similar happen to me and I would like OP to help confirm this bug. Where you by chance AFK (In the escape menu) and came back later? because I afk'ed in my quarry mine filled which was empty, only to come back and have it filled to the brim with drifters. bven Posted June 7, 2025 Author Report Posted June 7, 2025 I don't remember if I was afk the first time. I might have been afk yesterday around the time I found them, but I usually pause the game by going to the handbook. I was afk (in the handbook) today and came back to a mob filled cave.

I think mobs are spawning during a pause. This is definitely a bug. Both escape and/or handbook pause. My suggestion dont go AFK in caves or low-light Edited June 8, 2025 by Asatar
radfast Posted June 13, 2025 Report Posted June 13, 2025 This is a known bug in 1.20.11, only happens when the game is paused. The bug is fixed in game version 1.20.12 2
