I just find it weird how you can find ruins with clothes on armor stands, but then when you take it off you can't put it back on!
It just seems weird to put that restriction on the player if it is already possible?

Besides it would be really nice to have some way to display all the cool clothes the game has!
If the name of the armor stand is a problem, it could always be renamed to mannequin or something similar.

This is actually due to a bug! Notice how those clothes have non-functional durability bars too. Armour stands can sometimes spawn with items that they really should not have, and the game does not like it when you take them off. 😆

Anyways I agree, now that we have 3D clothes it would be possible. The reason we don't have this feature yet is that up until 1.20, clothes were 2D textures instead of 3D models and so couldn't be used in this way.

oh! I started playing on 1.20 so i actually didn't know that! Fingers crossed that that means we might be able to display our clothes in the near future!

There is a mod (Mannequin) that allowed to put clothes on a doll in version 1.19, I have used it: https://mods.vintagestory.at/show/mod/5532 . Only these dolls are a bit expansive to make.

Still, for vanilla armor stands, more basic approach would be also nice.
