ModDB Search Overhaul

I'm not sure if this is just a me problem, but I find it very difficult to look for specific mods in the ModDB Site. I do a search, and it just doesn't seem all that accurate. I don't get relevant mods to what I'm searching for and if I try to sort by certain categories or keywords, it also shows not so relevant mods.

I'm suggesting a revamp of the ModDB that's a little easier to search.

I'm surprised this thread doesn't get more replies. The ModDB search is inexact enough that sometimes I search Google to get a more useful link to the mod list.

I tiny change would just be to allow searching by mod title, but I'm sure more stuff could be done so that one gets results sorted by relevance.

There seem to be no sorting of the results as of now, as the results are all jumbled together with the search term appearing either in title, description or on the mods page text.

Imho resulting names of mods, should be shown before anything else that match the search term.

[Dark Thoughts]

One of my biggest annoyances is the login actually.

It constantly logs me out and then wants me to solve obnoxious multi step captchas to log back in again. Like, I'm clearly a real user, so why?!

Many search engines mostly just suck.  In this case, both the modDB and Wiki are awful.

Google Site Search might help...a lot. I use it almost exclusively for the wiki, but rarely have a need to search the modDB.  i.e.

I would argue that both sites should have their search boxes removed and replaced with google site search widgets (if there is no intention on improving them any time soon).
