ValariaLyte Posted July 16, 2025 Report Posted July 16, 2025 (edited) Can I see y'alls kitchen's? Need some ideas! Edit: After looking at ideas and messing around for awhile in my world, this is what i came up with: Edited August 1, 2025 by ValariaLyte 4 1
lawn Posted July 17, 2025 Report Posted July 17, 2025 (edited) Here's one I've been working on and slowing building on a multiplayer world. (though currently this pic is from the creative version) It's for a common area in an inn, so it doesn't have all the bells and whistles a normal kitchen would have since it's simplified to help train new players on how to cook. Aksha Posted July 25, 2025 Report Posted July 25, 2025 (edited) And this is my... kitchen. To the left of the stove is a refrigerator (mini-cellar). Edited July 25, 2025 by Aksha 4
Aksha Posted July 25, 2025 Report Posted July 25, 2025 And a public bakery in the village on our server. I also built it. 6

And after that i build the wall. 1
TimeTheTea Posted July 31, 2025 Report Posted July 31, 2025 Our micro kitchen WIP in our very first playthrough. Planning to make some fake seasoning jars onto the shelves next to the oven and add more oak details to the "cabinets". Also hid a second oven behind the trapdoor for a sneaky double oven action when needed. 2 3
Maelstrom Posted August 1, 2025 Report Posted August 1, 2025 Better than any kitchen I've ever strewn together. My ovens usually hang out on the side of a wall and water is just a big ol' puddle near the grain storage and wall hanging ovens. I guess I'm one of those utilitarian builders that doesn't care about asthetics at all. 2

I've chiseled one out myself, but it just winds up removing water if I try to place it in the water. Alternatively, if I try to put water in it, it just puts the water above or to the side. I know that stairs don't remove water when placed in it, do I have to start with stairs instead of a full block? Also, my sad but humble kitchen for consideration and following of the topic. Still early in progress, but am enjoying it! 4

Still early in progress, but am enjoying it! I struggled with the sink as well until I saw someone mention that if the sink has no bottom bits, the water can be placed inside. There is a critical mass situation where it needs at least 2 bit thick walls on all the vertical faces though. Haven't tested with how wide I could make the inner hole at the top, but any fiddling with the depth usually made it overflow or clear the water.

After poking around at the issue longer by myself, I found that you can get away with a fillable block as long as there's X amount of 'surface' voxels missing (my current hypothesis that needs testing). I'm not sure what that number is yet, but with the top face of my sink only having the edgemost voxels, I was able to have a fillable block by removing about 12 more from one of the sides. Now I just have that face against a wall so I don't have a river through the house. 1

I know that stairs don't remove water when placed in it, do I have to start with stairs instead of a full block? I have a sink that I can wash bowls in. It needs to be about half a block deep and at least two voxels thick. I made the sink out of three blocks. The first and third blocks are partially hollowed out, and the middle one is hollowed out the entire length. This gives me a working sink (in the middle block) and room for decorations (blocks on the edges). 2 1
Aksha Posted August 5, 2025 Report Posted August 5, 2025 You can also hollow out a whole block from the inside so that all the walls are 2-3 voxels thick. You can pour water into this block, and it will hold water like a barrel. 1 1
