can you have 2 vs installations owned by 2 different people on the same computer, using different mods? If that won't work, will if work if each person had a different profile on the same computer?

Can you have 2 vs installations owned by 2 different people on the same computer, using different mods?  If that won't work, will if work if each person had a different profile on the same computer? I'm trying to keep the peace between kids. One wants monsters, the other doesn't.

Take a look on how to create multiple installations on the same pc, there is a thread in guides:

What you want to do is create a folder for each player, and inside each of them a DATA and a MODS folder (the login data will be stored in the DATA folder), then you create two different desktop shortcuts for each that link to those folders.

Each player can then have its own set of mods, placed in its own MODS folder you created.

Also, you can copy the current game saves by copying the contents of the "Saves" folder and "Maps" folder into the new folders you create.

As long as you don't move or delete stuff, the current setup will continue to be available by launching the current shortcut you have.

Yes.

I get the feeling though you really do not want to have it set up as 'two different people'.

you can use the same license and account and have multiple 'instances' of the game pointing to different mod folders.

To be exact its actually not multiple instances, its multiple instances of the data folder. You will just have to re login in when you go back between the two 'instances'

Vintage Story is set up by default to allow different users on the same computer to all have their own saves with their own mods and not interfere with each other. You don't need to do anything to enable this.

But, those users have to all have their own user profile on the computer. How else is the computer supposed to know who is currently sitting in front of the keyboard? ;)
