Gold coronet changeability?

first time posting in the form so apologies for the botched topic, that being said, i found out that the golden coronet changes appperance when i equip the merchant amulet, is this an intended feature? and what else can the coronet change into???

Such a weird interaction, though. A shared shader variable that's not being updated in the right place? That's the only thing I can even think of.
