This can be used for a variety of reasons (roads, trader routes, resin routes) but my primary need is to show the link between translocators.

In terms of UI, it would involve adding a new line in the waypoint window and a new tab on the side of the map window.

In line with the suggestion above: "completed" waypoints.

I think it would be beneficial to add a new tickbox to the waypoint system (like we have with "Pinned [x]") that reads as "Completed [x]" and dims/desaturates the selected waypoint when ticked. I mark a lot of things on my map but it would be weird to delete them from the map once they have been completed. That includes discovered ores, caves, ruins, etc.

We have entered the era of map layers since the addition of prospecting points in 1.20 in vanilla, so it would be easy to make those completed waypoints togglable with a "Completed" tab on the left side.

Thinking about it, maybe translocators could have it's own tab and automatically connect without us having to fiddle with a UI the devs have to create and maintain. Would be nice to filter, name, and color the routes but I'd settle for the bare minimum that shows me a line between two translocators. +1 for your suggestions

@Apache of Campaign Cartographer fame said that was his goal -- to be able to have waypoints connect to waypoints, but there was some structural thing in how waypoints are done internally that prevented it. He had submitted something specific that had to be done differently. I haven't checked in recently, as I don't use a map anymore, but maybe a good way to get this suggestion some traction is to follow up with him. Or at least his mod. Specific changes, particularly those where a mod author has already figured out exactly what needs to be changed, are almost always easier to implement.

Thanks. I think it's fine to keep it generic and not reserved to translocators. Maybe I want to connect other waypoints than translocators to show routes. ;)
