bowtorn have their back side exposed not ribcage but overall good art

well to be honest i always thought while looking at bowtorns they are arched back with their head torn so far back the spine broke and its their chest/stomach split open "at the back" with ribcage torn asunder. But legs are pointing other way so who knows 😜

I can't find any sources to confirm/deny either theory, but I'm positive that it's a human bent backwards, chest facing upwards.

I could have sworn someone said it somewhere, but I'm lost on finding that somewhere

This is my general assumption as well, though in fairness the bowtorn is probably the toughest one of the current trio to figure out. I'm also not entirely convinced that all the rotbeasts were humans either. The drifters probably were, as their design is fairly straightforward, but shivers are more animalistic in their design, and it's not entirely out of the question that the monsters are a composite of human, animal, and rust/rot corruption.

After SRPENEtrante's Sep 24 art post, I pulled up some screenshots of bowtorns and stared at them. I'd assumed they were hunched over with bones sticking out their back, but now I'm sure they're bent over backwards. Woo, that's creepy body horror.

If you watch their idle animations, they'll bend over backwards as well. Which, I suppose, is actually bending over forwards, if they were backwards to start with. 🤔

Just a bunch of pics I searched up using Google Images.

I had done this earlier as well, as the Wiki didn't have any good shots.

I wanna say the knees also got bent backwards. Which really sounds painful 😬 But that would explain why they're so slow to run, and why they wobble so much when they do.

Yes, I saw that, and that’s why I had been drawing these things that way. And I don't know why my letter is so black 🤷‍♂️

Of all the idle animations between the three creatures, that's the only one that gave me goosebumps the first time I saw it. Something about the shivers standing up like a normal human creeped me out. You could say it send .. shivers .. down my spine ;)

Another reason as to why I love the shivers so much ❤️

Yep! I've mistaken them for bears a time or two--extra creepy if you catch one doing it in the distance in broad daylight and don't recognize what it is at first. I'm pretty sure it's the same animation the bowtorn use as well, it just looks very different due to completely different monster designs.
