A_British_Lass Posted November 20, 2025 Report Posted November 20, 2025 with the announcement of hytales return... Where does that lead adventure mode? Has it been scrapped, or will it be developed alongside hytale with it's own identity? i, for one, was excited about the prospect of playing vintage story in a different way, but i haven't heard any news about it since hytale was originally canned and i haven't managed to find any postings discussing the situation the adventure mode finds itself in with the return of hytale if anyone has any info and sources they could point me too i'd be grateful thanks! 1
LadyWYT Posted November 20, 2025 Report Posted November 20, 2025 This is probably what you're looking for. At least I'm fairly certain that Project Glint is what adventure mode is, but I could be wrong. In any case, to my knowledge, the Anego teams are still very much exploring the concept, and I've not seen any good reason for them to stop work on it. 26 minutes ago, A_British_Lass said: with the announcement of hytales return... While I've seen the news as well, it's also something I would take with caution. From what I've seen, Hytale is still very much unfinished, and at best likely has some sort of early alpha prototype. I didn't watch the entire video they released the other day showcasing some of the gameplay currently implemented, but from the looks of it...it is very basic and mostly centered on RPG style action-focused combat. That's not a bad thing, but it may disappoint those looking to go wild in Hytale like they currently can in Minecraft and Vintage Story. It's also worth bearing in mind that Hytale still needs to actually release something playable, otherwise it's still just talk. That being said...I do think it's very promising that the Hytale's creator(Simon, I think his name is?) was able to buy back the rights from Riot. I'm not sure how much he had to pay to do so(maybe there was a loophole in the original sale contract?), but it's no small feat to get a large corporate entity to release the rights instead of just sitting on them to avoid competition. 1

hstone32 Posted November 20, 2025 Report Posted November 20, 2025 They may have bought back ownership and announced a restarted development, but I don't see how that would impact project glint unless it comes out that the former hytale devs who got onboarded at Anego decided to leave and rejoin hytale. more than one voxel adventure game can exist at the same time. I realize that they very well might compete against each other sales-wise, but that's ok. Only puplic companies are so afraid of competition that they would cancel their products, and Anego is not a public company. That's my hope, at least. 1

To paraphrase a comment I read recently: Hytale covers high fantasy. Minecraft covers low fantasy. Vintage Story covers dark fantasy. So basically, all three are somewhat in the same genre, but have very distinct flavors. What the player is in the mood for at the time determines which one they'll want to be playing. 2
Cleitus Posted November 20, 2025 Report Posted November 20, 2025 It feels like Hytale has been in development forever. I wonder if they will release it into early access before they finish it. The fanbase is huge, and I think they all want to play it. 1

Otherwise, it turns into yet another scenario of stuck in development, with no sign of release.
Cleitus Posted November 21, 2025 Report Posted November 21, 2025 Agreed. I don't envy their position; it's gotta be a lot of pressure.

There just hasn't been much news about it because mostly what they have is concept art. I imagine once they get more nailed down, we'll start to see some advancements, not only to the VS game engine, but to Glint itself. 1
