I have really weird terrain generation issues, and I don't know how to fix them.

I have tried using commands like "/db prune 16 drop confirm" and "/wgen regen 5", but they didn't work as they just kind of regenerate anything the player messed with in the chunks. If it helps, it's happened across multiple worlds and my only terrain generation mods are "RiverGen" and "Plains and Valleys".

Anyone have any ideas? Here's some pictures of it:

Those commands won't generate a different terrain, they will just reproduce the terrain for that seed. Which is what you already have.

The discontinuity is almost certainly because one of those mods is not playing nicely with mapgen.

I'd guess it's RiverGen. There were problems before with both vanilla ruins and BetterRuins with transitions. Unless something changed in Plains and Valleys, all it does is add a few dozen landforms, so diluting down the chances you get the more extreme vanilla landforms. RiverGen cuts through existing landforms, and even if it plays nicely with all vanilla landforms, it's unlikely it's been exhaustively tested with all the transitions of all the landforms of all the mapgen mods.

[EDIT]

What I would do is create some new worlds with one or the other, not both, then ask on the correct mod page if there is a way to force a different generation.

Did you at any point start the world with any world gen mod disabled?

I got a similar issue when I disabled Terra Prety by accident and started up the world.

I later reproduced the issue:
1) I generated a new world with the exact world settings
2) Flew around with creative mode for almost an hour where everywhere generated just fine
3) Disabled Terra Prety and loaded up the world again
4) Enabled the Terra Prety, flew around to generate new chunks and then found bands of missing chunks that wouldn't generate

We have had something similar but with no worldgen mods, its a old world so that might be the cause but world gen has stopped completely past old exploration points and the DB prune and even Wgen commands resulted in large holes that didnt regen. Also some of the player modified area's did vanish. We reset to the backup and have decided that Copy pasting our estate to a new world is the best outcome.

@user 88 91 Sorry I forgot to post my results, I'm like 99% sure it was the "RiverGen" mod I had enabled. Been playing a new world and just went straight south for like an hour and nothing was out of the ordinary. I did leave "Plains and Valleys" on and so far haven't had an issue.

@ArgentLuna Very weird, best of luck to you guys. I wish the worldgen wasn't so wonky because this game is one of the best out there.

@ThorfinnI'm pretty sure you were right, thank you very much! I'm just not going to screw with the river mods because as pretty as they are, they all have done this and I do not like vanilla terrain.
