As a non software related person i can say that if three people with supposed experience cant agree on a thing they are thus irrelevant to what one product is released as by the devs of this product. People will hate stuff for all sorts of silly reasons, Minecraft is still a popular game, is still often a entry to a genre and like a lot of other things that are gateways some people get stuck in them when there are are other options to go onto (see D&D as another often stuck in gateway example) Its not the best nor is it the worst except on a subjective level and take those with a grain of salt. Personally used to love it but then it just didn't do what i wanted even with extensive modding and lost interest, VS managed to fill almost all of what i wanted from that type of game with what it has by default. I only use two mods that have a Bit of QoL and a major change to how bees are managed and even then my interest in it waxes and wanes like everything i play. Maybe eventually I'll even play the story one day when there is a bit more of it to play.

You are getting Min maxed windmills confused with Functional Windmills, i have three functional windmills that both work well and look good ~ two are turned off unless i need them and the other runs the quern constantly because its a good gauge of the wind strength and isn't noisy like the helve hammer is.

Like everything what anyone should be hoping for is when it works

That right there is what makes the game great, finding cool stuff in a very pretty enviroment

Everything useful is taken, everything else is removed for eas of movement However its best to reach it ~ extensive tunnels as needed My first iron was two Teleports in, have closer iron now but vast distances covered with only a day or two of travel needed to get there, havent fully expored both locals (and broadly World Gen has broken so its unkown how much there is to find) Have several more un tapped locations but unsure what would happen if i tried to use them since WG has stopped.

Steam isnt the be all and end all of gaming and has drawbacks to being what it is that people might not want to engage with now or at all. Also that assumption that if its on steam you can get it cheap isnt exactly true due to the small number of games that dont partake in the seasonal sales for whatever reason. If someone won't play a game because its not on steam thats a choice they have made and are entilted to it.

The Word is Pigsplosion. Once you reach that state you no longer need to worry about meat, fat or hides. Particully once they are bred enough that a cleaver works and you dont have to fight them for the parts.
