Cactus needs to hurt more

I recently ran and jumped on some saguaro/barrel cacti and didn't get hurt at all. I had starting clothes so no armor or anything. I think the silver torch cacti DID hurt but only if i fell on it from a couple blocks up. I was also able to harvest cactus fruit with no issues.

Cacti needs to hurt more! Like, damage on any contact. Those things are covered in spikes, I need to regret walking into one. Harvesting the fruit also needs to be painful without something to help like some kind of thick gloves, a spear or even tongs. Eating the raw cactus fruit is probably fine? It's the prickly pears you wanna be careful eating.

(maybe there should be prickly pears purely for prank reasons...but I'm getting ahead of myself.)

Having sat on a cactus before, I can confirm that it does indeed hurt! It's a little strange that the cacti in VS don't hurt, but I suspect that will likely change in a future update.

I have a lot of cacti in my home and I've handled tons of species of them (And similar looking plants like euphorbias). Some are harmless, others are NASTY. Cacti in this game should definitely hurt if you try to walk through them. And I hope prickly pear cactus  (Opuntia spp.) are added, as they are really cool, really common and have fruit (and are amongst the most horrid cacti you can get prickeld by: those hair-like barbed spikes will get embeded in your skin and hurt for days)

Would any of you say that you've received a lasting injury from bumping into a cactus? I sure wouldn't.

As long as it’s nothing disproportionate, I’d say it’s fine, unless you’re using a saguaro cactus for target practice. Then you deserve what’s coming to you.

My thoughts exactly. Getting spiked by a cactus can definitely hurt, but you're not going to die from it. You'd have to go through some extreme lengths for that to happen.

You can absolutely get permanently fucked up by cacti as big as the ones in-game, specially by saguaros. They are plants so they won't chase you or anything, but if you just walk into a big cactus you can get really, really hurt. Those spikes are no joke.

Of course I wouldn't want to get my eyes gouged out in-game, so cacti just giving you some damage (-1 or -2 hp) if you bump into them, try to climb them or break them eith your naked hands would be alright
