mycroftcanadans Posted February 1 Report Posted February 1 Hello. Version: 1.21.6 I have no idea if this is a bug or not but I've noticed that nothing stacks properly. What I mean is no matter what I harvest (sticks etc) a couple will stack then when I harvest others they on't stack with the others. When I try to move the new sticks or whatever to the other stack it refuses it. My entire toolbar has several sticks and in some stacks there might be 3, in another 6, and in another 1, and nothing stacks. I do have a few mods installed but none of them mess with stacking. Here is the list of mods I use, and let me know if you can if any of these are causing the issue. If not then I'll just toss all of the mods, clear out my settings in appdata, and reinstall. [Mods] betterandimprovedweather_0.1.8.zip BetterRuinsv0.5.6.zip CaveSymphony_1.2.1.zip fleeexhaustion_1.2.0.zip Footprints-v1.1.2.zip ForestSymphony_1.0.6.zip levelup_3.0.2.zip MobsRadar-v2.1.13.zip realsmoke_1.1.10.zip TerraPrety_7.9.0.zip The_Critters_Pack_v1-3-4.zip zoombuttonreborn_2.0.0.zip Cheers.
Broccoli Clock Posted February 1 Report Posted February 1 The only time I've had issue with stacking it's been with food, and it's all down to their state. For example if I have berries that I collected the day before and pick fresh ones of the same type, they won't stack. This, I believe, is simply down to one set of berries being 'fresher' and thus 'different' to the other. That said, when combined in your inventory they 'restack'. However, with things that don't degrade, like the sticks you mention, I've never had an issue stacking those.

Strange, I uninstalled the game, deleted all the mods, reinstalled a fresh copy of 1.21.6, and I'm still in the same day and having the same issues. I really don't think this should be happening. I play other games which has spoilage but it still allows for stacking of the same items even though some were harvested earlier. To be honest I don't think I came across this issue unti 1.21.6 was released. I hope the dev does something about this since space is at a premium, and having sticks which won't stack, berries won't stack and even logs won't stack if harvested at different times soon eats all of your room. Anyway, I'm not at all pleased with this since I never came across this before in any other game version.

Just a heads up, in Windows, if you want a clean install you will need to manually delete the mods in the appData. I have a feeling you already know this as you are discussing mods, so I'm guessing you understand the way, and where, they are implemented. As for the actual problem, I'll be honest I have no clue. I've got prob 100+ hours in 1.21.6 and not encountered this specific issue and there doesn't seem to be others that have reported it either, although I only did a fairly basic check on the bug tracker. You can find that here.. https://github.com/anegostudios/VintageStory-Issues/issues If you have the time, perhaps to capture video of you experiencing the problem, then submitting it to the bug tracker. While it may not be worked on immediately, you do tend to get one of the devs commenting on the submission in order to confirm if it is an actual bug or not. Edited February 1 by Broccoli Clock

Thank You very much for the help, I really appreciate it. I did exactly that (deleted vintage story in my appdata folder) after I uninstalled the game. I have it happening to granite stones now. I've no idea what in the name is going on. I'm just now uploading my most recent video of my game play and it shows it happening. It appears to be random. Thanks again for the help. 1

Just to make sure all the bases are covered--did you try the vanilla game after reinstalling? If you did and vanilla still isn't working correctly in spite of a fresh install, you'll want to head to the bug tracker and report it, if you haven't already done so. 1

I just finished playing for a bit with no mods installed, and I no longer have the issue. Thank You very much for helping me out. Hmm, now I have to try and figure out which mod is causing the issue. Take care, and again thank you. 1
LadyWYT Posted February 1 Report Posted February 1 15 hours ago, mycroftcanadans said: levelup_3.0.2.zip This is the most likely culprit. It affects quite a lot about the player character, and is thus more likely to have issues with mods that affect similar attributes. Other players also seem to be reporting the same stacking issue in the mod comments. 1

Many thanks, and now I know so I'll just leave that mod alone until it gets updated. 1

For future reference, if you run into issues with mods and there's no obvious culprit, the easiest way to figure out which one is the problem is to disable them all, verify the vanilla game works properly, and then re-enable the mods one by one and testing as you do so. Tedious work to be sure, but it'll make the problem mod rather obvious. 1
