Rix2k Posted February 28 Report Posted February 28 Hello. Is it possible to get rid of floating islands with some world gen settings? I never liked them in MC and here in VS it's even worse for my immersion! They are so unrealistic, does anyone even like them in the first place?
Zane Mordien Posted March 1 Report Posted March 1 I'm not aware of any way to get rid of them. I think this is one of those things they fix in the future, but it's just not he priority.
Sparkworm Posted March 3 Report Posted March 3 (edited) No, I don't think there's any way for you to adjust vanilla generation to prevent floating islands. There are some terrain generation overhaul mods that seem pretty good. These might not generate floating islands, but I'm not certain. And plenty of people do like the floating islands, though I'm not sure they fit VS as well as MC. Edited March 3 by Sparkworm

Of course a lot of people like them! Why wouldn't we? I love sky islands! if I ever find a really good one, I'mma build on it. Reminds me of the old CrossGen comic, Meridian. Shoom Posted March 21 Report Posted March 21 (edited) Assuming the islands in question aren't massive, you can type /gm 2 to go into creative mode, fly underneath the island, look up and and spam mouseclick to remove them by hand then go back into survival using /gm 1 once done. Personally I like to remove them by hand in survival and use the stone and dirt for builds/terraforming, will admit it's quite tedious though. Edited March 21 by Shoom
