Linus Grevelund Posted Saturday at 11:53 AM Report Posted Saturday at 11:53 AM Hiya, all you vintagestoryers. I am coming to you today because, I, had an epiphany. I have myself reached the late stage point in the game where I produce a lot of grains, and my quern can simply not keep up anymore. So I thought, "Wouldn't it be nice if we had a larger sized quern?" And then it hit me! We already do! Mill stones! So my proposal is as such. There are 2 components, the bed stone, 9 stone blocks, place fiest, fills a 3×3 space, then the runner stone. 6 stone blocks, same size, and goes on top! You connect it like you would a quern, and instead of only accepting 1 stack at a time, you can grind 3 separate stacks at the same time eith 3 separate outputs for each stack! Of cause such a large mill is not cheap and will require a beafy mechanical power drive, but if you can run it you can process flour/grains way faster. 1
Demoncyborg Posted Saturday at 02:42 PM Report Posted Saturday at 02:42 PM (edited) I feel like since it's the same circumference as the large gear , it'd have 4 outputs and one input, and do them at a drastically faster pace. That would need some serious power to run though, I like it!! i'm not sure how to make it more efficient than just running more querns and chutes, querns already have some of the biggest power draw on a system, a huge one would be a BEAST on those poor rotors. Emeal Posted Saturday at 06:32 PM Report Posted Saturday at 06:32 PM basically a MEGA Quern. I love the idea. We would need to make two millstones out of 9 stone blocks each. then build the contraption and put the stones in. I think this would also be the time start putting grains into bags for storage.
