Thank you very much. Im still learning these forums and Angeos ways. I will say that this is one of the quickest ways to get an answer too and I thank you for not being condescending. OBAMFSpike Posted April 30 Author Report Posted April 30 (edited) Okay im back. Ive gotten the prompts entered into terminal and nothing. Password? (The password for sudo is the log pass for the admin account on the Mac and still no luck) Determined I am. Failure is not an option. Ive tried closing terminal out and it stated that the application sudo was still running and asked if I wanted to terminate that so ive left it alone at this point. Edited April 30 by OBAMFSpike

Slightly modified command and drag and drop will squish out a few sources of errors. If it says sudo is still running when you try to close the terminal, it's very likely it's still waiting for your password. DragAndOrDrop.mp4

OBAMFSpike Posted May 4 Author Report Posted May 4 (edited) Oh it's pissing me off cause I know I can get it it's just so foreign and ive never done something like this! (Okay, I used dos back in the 80s so im not entirely wet behind the ears =D) Ive even found my way onto Github and read what I could find and im striking out. No luck. Guess im gonna delete everything and try again. Net 10 &1.22.1 sooner than later I should figure this out. Edited May 4 by OBAMFSpike

Here's a new recording with all of my nonsense stripped out, so the whole process should look exactly like this: CleanerDragNDrop.mp4 1 2
OBAMFSpike Posted May 4 Author Report Posted May 4 (edited) well I did it and thought I got it and nothing and by nothing I mean the file is damaged move it to trash. WAIT I GOT IT! Thank you! Followed your instructions above, deleted the file I was attempting to work with and opened a new download and viola. Thanks again. I think I learned something. lmao Edited May 4 by OBAMFSpike 1 1
OBAMFSpike Posted June 1 Author Report Posted June 1 I tried giving you the community answer selection but apparently ive posted in the wrong area for such things. Oh well! Still a big help.
TeqSun51 Posted June 3 Report Posted June 3 I'm not sure you're having the same problem I had. My problem was that even after installing .net framework and unquarantining the App with the terminal commands all Vintage Story would do was bounce in the dock and close. After a bit of searching the internet I found my problem was that in the Downloads page, the big Download button was downloading the Intel executable, and I had to find and download the Apple Silicon executable down in the list. Then, after redoing the dequarantining, everything worked. Not sure if this will help but it did get me playing... You can check what version you have by checking the archive name: the Intel version is called vs_client_osx-x64_1.22.3.tar.gz whereas the Apple SIlicon version is called vs_client_osx-arm64_1.22.3.tar.gz 1 1

We are paying to be testers. How quaint. Dance circus critters dance! (Yes, im dancing too). I feel obligated to add that Diff above, and his advice are spot on great stuff using the sudo command. I am greener than algae when it comes to Mac stuff. But ive gone back to that command several times now (it seems like a few times a month anymore) and it's working great. Wish I could I pin it for more Mac users. So yes I do indeed hear you about the jumping through hoops. But hey youve got the choice of purple hair now. I mean we. We have that choice. Hahahahahahaha game on. Edited August 5 by OBAMFSpike
