A cool little thing.  A yearly free digital Vintage Story county fair on a custom server made into a county fair type of deal.  Something no one else has or has ever done, and a country fair is extremely Vintage Story coded.  Probably during Sept-Oct irl.  Only once a year and once it's over it's over.  Server gone.  Make it unique each year with a theme.  Get Vintage Story's name out there even more.  No one else in the survival crafting space does an event like this.

Can take any shape or form as long as it is "official" and advertised by the team, site, discord, and notable content creators with a special place on the server list.  No real particulars.  The community can help build and manage it.

A limited time event (maybe a couple weeks) that showcases the community's love for the game and creativity.  Streamers/Tubers, advertisements, prizes, swag, ect.  Different days have different main events and exhibitions.  Designated, rented booths.  PvP arena, elk racing, boat racing, ect.

History - Tell fables and tales and show artwork from the lore or your server and players.

Agriculture - Ehhh, would be far better if we had genetics and could grow varying sizes and qualities of crops.  Maybe a sculpture contest?

Art - Sculpture, painting, architecture, ect.

Science - Show us your mod!

Trade - ...I dunno.  KIDNAP A TRADER AND SHOW THEM OFF

It's an interesting idea, but...this is also stuff that we already have. The Discord and forums almost always have people chatting and sharing builds, ideas, etc. There are plenty of creators on YouTube and other social media posting content regularly. There's several different VS servers advertised in the Multiplayer section.

The distinct disadvantages I see to something like this is that, aside from digital conventions being rather uninteresting, it takes a LOT of time, effort, and other resources to actually organize an event on this scale. It's not something you could or even should leave up to the community to organize if it's going to be an officially sanctioned event, since it can easily lead to all kinds of drama in the community and also give the impression that the company is taking advantage of fans' goodwill. Prizes cost money, and have to be mailed to the winners; digital prizes don't have to be mailed, but can end up creating friction in the community due to people missing out on limited-time items for whatever reason. Staff has to be paid, more moderation is probably needed to keep things running smoothly. For server infrastructure...um...to my knowledge, TOPS can only handle 75 people at once currently--an event like this you'd need at least a couple thousand slots for, if not more. The list goes on, but overall, this kind of thing can turn into a logistical nightmare rather fast.
