I'm in my house, cooking or smithing, and suddenly my whole computer locks up for 4 or 5 seconds. With Process Monitor I can see that Vintage Story uses up 100% of my CPU at that time, which causes everything else on my PC to just stop. Music playing, YouTube videos, alt-tabbing to the taskmanager, nothing works during that time. There is no other activity at that time. No unusual high disk or network usage, half my RAM and VRAM is still available. No, my RAM is not broken because I tested it and can fill it all up just fine. Game and data folder are on an SATA SSD, putting everything on an M.2 makes no difference. No other game has this issue. This happens infrequently, maybe two or three times in an hour.

Are there any mods known to cause this?

I'm on 1.22.3 (stable)
My Mods are

Before I waste hours trying to debug this myself by disabling one mod at a time, I thought I might ask here if anyone has a similar problem.
My specs are
Intel 12th gen i5-12600KF
32GB RAM (with half of that still available)
Radeon RX 6800 XT with 16GB dedicated memory
Running on Windows 10
Temperatures around 60°C for the GPU and about 55 for the CPU.

Do you have block instability enabled?
Also creating a copy of your world and running around with no mods at all would be the fastest way to find out if problem is related to them or is it generally something wrong with the game on your system

I didn't go through everything, but you're using some mods that are either out of date, or stuck in a dev version for 1.22. Older mods do sometimes work on newer game versions, but 1.22 introduced some changes to the code and broke a lot of mods, so trying to use an older mod on 1.22 is definitely more of a risk. Likewise, mods that are still in a development version are more likely to contain bugs or cause problems.

I would start with double-checking your modlist and pulling out the older mods, then test to see if the issue clears up. If the game was running fine and you recently added mods to the list, those would also be prime suspects.

Here are the mods I noticed that are out of date/in development:

https://mods.vintagestory.at/betterforest

https://mods.vintagestory.at/sticksfromfirewood

https://mods.vintagestory.at/chiselwiz

https://mods.vintagestory.at/indifferentwolves

That may or may not be all of them.
