So I think it'd be nice if you could grow plants in standing water, that can survive it. ie rice, lettuce, wheat, etc. Since then it would always be at 100% moisture so no watering required.

This would be awesome for plants that naturally grown in those conditions, given the overall direction of the game so far it would be amazing to have detailed aquaponics implimented.

I love this, imagine transporting live fish to your ponds. would love more animal and plant interactions other than animals eating your damn crops lol

Standing water crops would be a nice addition. That said, it means being able to make tilled soil under water, likely as a new type of tilled-soil, and that probably would be best added with a dedicated tool for making it; Luckily, there is is just such an implement in real life: the Dibber (also called a Dibble in some countries).

While hoes are still used to till furrows in rice farming, the actual planting relies on a Dibber (made of wood or metal) to make a precise hole for the seed through the soil and muddy-water.
