Provider Posted 19 hours ago Report Posted 19 hours ago So I've traveled around about a 6000 block radius on my current continent, I've checked down in coastal caves and I've prospected in sandstone, limestone, claystone, and shale. Not a drop of Borax. Is it possible that for some reason it's just not on my entire continent and I need to sail to a new one?

It's entirely plausible, and actually quite likely if the continent is relatively small. While you do seem like you're aware of at least the basics, I want to note a couple things just to be sure if you need tips on searching for borax: Spoiler Borax only generates in sedimentary rock. Borax only generates at or below sea level, so it's most abundantly found in low-lying plains, marshes or whatnot (or under lakes and shallow ocean, though diving for it can be tricky). Borax deposits can generate loose chunks on the surface, which may allow you to find it through exploration without prospecting. If you're getting no prospecting hits for borax, there's no borax. Borax readings tend to be low - "poor" tends to be absolutely sufficient if you're just looking for a little borax for an anvil, and even a "very poor" may be good enough sometimes. If you want to scan the area thoroughly through prospecting, you don't usually need to take readings any more frequently than every ~100-200 blocks. Sometimes random generation just does its thing. If you've roughly prospected in all areas which can generate borax but got no readings for it, then it's safe to assume you need to look for it elsewhere. 1
